What drills are best to get that smooth stroke like Buddy Hall , or Chris Melling?

I don't think you understand the natural evolution of all sports. Take baseball for instance. When the game first began, you just played it. The best players among your peer group moved up the ladder. And on and on it went. Ted Williams wasn't playing travel ball and training year around. Today...

    US Open 08/18-23

The question is -- how many players (good, great, elite, whatever) are there that can play a plus .900 level match under current WNT conditions? I think that number is pretty high, and it's growing every tournament as more players get the break dialed in. As a spectator, I don't mind it, but I...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

@LeftyIke LeftyIke makes a few good points but the idea that the system (my word) is somehow holding back the black players is not one of them. At this point in our country I think it's clear that whatever athletic endeavor black children pursue with all their might -- they find success. My...

2 minutes per pick would make for an interesting 1 hour show.

    US Open 08/18-23

If WNT wanted to do something interesting, once they get to this point of a tournament, they could let the players pick who they want to play. Do sort of like a quick draft, where the undefeated players get to pick. Their order would be based on performance or ranking. Maybe not a great idea for...

What drills are best to get that smooth stroke like Buddy Hall , or Chris Melling?

If you're playing the extreme versions of all those shots while you're playing, you must really be playing a lot.

What drills are best to get that smooth stroke like Buddy Hall , or Chris Melling?

There's just no way this is true for many players. I understand that you can stay "in stroke" for the most part if you're playing all the time, but I think there are maintenance shots that you just have to practice because they don't come up in competition enough to keep them fresh. Jacked up...

Like it or not, when Sky is playing his best - it looks nonchalant. He was playing his best a couple of years ago, and that was probably his best chance to really break through. It may just not be in the cards for him.

I was just getting ready to ask if anyone knew who Mike was referring to.

Reopening my case. Going to hit a few before bed.

    "MONK" Warren Costanzo...1979 World Champion

What's funny is I've watched him do that at least 3 times in televised matches. I actually think of him every time the plus-2 type kick comes up.

    US Open 08/18-23

It's actually ridiculous how many great players there are. This may end up being a problem for Matchroom if they really want to develop known commodities. There's just too many players that can play + .900 level TPA even on tough equipment. Big names will always get knocked out early. Maybe...

    Corey Deuel still good? Fargorate

I've sort of thought this for years. If you look closely at his record, he really wasn't ever among the elite. Yes, he had one great year where he figured out a way to stay a step ahead of the competition, but that was about it. He sort of came along right at the end of the "hustling" era...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

We used to run into Kenny Brisbon and his teams out of Detroit quite a bit. He was an absolute class act! Loved seeing him at tourneys. He was the model "amateur" player and he collected quite a few scalps of professional players over the years. Sadly, he passed away a couple of years ago.

Why are there so few black pro players..?

People are afraid to talk about things. The baseball thing is simple: Travel ball is expensive and young boys can't play catch with themselves.

What an amazing scene. A movie couldn't capture that moment as well! I can smell the room. It's equal parts, chalk dust, smoke residue, and polyester.

    Corey Deuel still good? Fargorate

I would need too much weight as I've never even played bar table 8 ball. I didn't realize poolscholar was the 1 rail lag guy. 😳

Are you implying Corey has gotten worse? Oh my goodness. Maybe you should try him some and see how you like it. 😉
