    (Un)Popular Opinion on Fargo Rate

I've been bothered in general by technology ruining all the games and sports I love. I know FargoaRate is just a small part of this, but I throw it in the mix for all the reasons listed in the original post. We are just years, if not months away from massive technological innovation in any...

1990 US Open Sigel & Varner - 5 Inch Pockets

In a couple of those older Accu-stats matches, there's commentary about players requesting a new spot. It's possible once the wired ball started going in all the time, players (such as ahem Earl) started really scrutinizing the spot. Grady once stated it was within a players right to request a...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

That 's cute. It's also a straw man. No I didn't. You just ignored my portrayal because it doesn't fit into your narrative. Just an unfounded assertion. Why would the MLB not want more players like Bonds, Gwynn, and Ken Griffey Jr.? You think they don't like filling stadiums and making boat...

14 year old BasementDweller calls up the local country club... "Prestige Country Club. Graham speaking. How can I help you?" "Hey Graham, this is BasementDweller. Would you mind driving out here to give me a ride, buy me a set of clubs, give me some lessons, and throw in a free membership?"...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

I had less of a choice than Tiger Woods did. My parents didn't have the means and his parents did. Are you intelligent enough to understand that difference? I'm purty stupid, but I'm familiar with their struggles. Somehow they overcame them, but yet in 2025 black people can't play pool because...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

The ONLY sports they have are ALL the major and most lucrative sports! That's sort of a funny thing to point out. By focusing so singularly on race you're missing the bigger picture. Sports in the U.S. are largly being divided by class, not race. Does this disproportionately affect Blacks...

    US Open 08/18-23

Just put the speed on the screen. Gives them another interesting graphic and conversation piece. The more they differentiate from snooker the better.

    US Open 08/18-23

Yeah the Sky criticism here is completely arbitrary. Does someone have first hand info that he is approaching his game differently because he now has a family? Just sounds like conjecture to me. At his level, it's not just desire that gets you over the finish line. Honestly, he's always been in...

    Final 16 Majors

I don't know if they need to do sets, but the way things are going with the break -- I tend to agree with you that the races are a little short. Although too short for the players and too short for the spectators are two different things. I don't like the way the break is trending though. It...

    Final 16 Majors

I don't wish for your demise, but I do think when the day comes your tombstone needs to read as follows: Here lies Island Drive Professional pool matches should include sets. That is all.

    US Open 08/18-23

It's strange. I always thought he did too, but when you go back and watch him, you'll see he always liked to come up on the big shots. He used to still make them though. Now it seems like he can't sync up his movement as well. By today's standards, his body movement really stands out.

Hohman's technique was never great but it just got worse and worse over the years. The guy just can't stay still. It kills him every match. Contrast him with Feijen and the difference is stark. Feijen still has rock solid technique.

Why are there so few black pro players..?

I think working class pool players of all ethnicities have way more in common than we realize. When first bitten by the game, most of us didn't have the resources or the know-how to actually pursue it properly. I didn't have a clue and I quickly wore out my high school buddies interest. I was on...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

That's the same story many serious pool players tell. White or black. Pool is still largely a blue-collar pursuit. Strong stayment. Maybe true in the past. This simply isn't true anymore. Especially with NIL money now flowing in the college ranks. I'd dare say we now have more black athletes...

I don't even wear glasses and I always have my eye glass spray with me. Not sure why that's unusual at all.
