I don't play APA myself so my cost is actually $50.00. But it's a chance to see some good players and have a little fun with my friends. Who knows, it may even improve my game. :cool:

I think most players compete in the qualifiers for a chance to play against some of the top amateurs in the country. For this opportunity, $40 ain't bad. I'm playing for the first time this year and I rate my chances in the low zeroes. But I'm riding up with my buddy who won his qualification...

It's also fairly easy to make 8 ball more demanding without changing the equipment. Play 1-15 8 ball or last pocket. We even played rotation 8 ball when I was in college. :cool:

Time to revive this thread... I purchased a Meucci Original on eBay a few days ago and it arrived today. It's a fairly plain cue but it's in great shape and I paid a very reasonable price for it. I put it together this afternoon and ran a couple of racks with it. It has a great feel and hits...

I like that. Loud music, obnoxious people, and smoky environments have always had a negative effect on my game. And I have occasionally used ear buds to help block it out. Maybe it's just something I need to work on. :cool:

I played for a couple of years in league on 9' tables with a Water Buffalo tip. Probably played my most consistent pool back then. That was when I had RK surgery on my eyes so my vision was pretty sporty. But I do believe a harder tip gives you more consistency. :cool:

I've done this with a White Diamond. Customer likes it. Brings up an interesting point, though. I wonder what you'd get if you used phenolic as a pad. Maybe about the thickness of a quarter. Then add a White Diamond or hard leather. May have to fire up the lathe... :cool:

I'm not really interested in the ethics of the other person. I only have control over myself. Doing what you feel is correct and honorable is it's own reward. It doesn't require confirmation. If you feel that shooting the shot is correct and honorable, then we don't have an issue. But the...
