Brunswick Centennial ready for action

Just curious, what needs to be done to convert a snooker table to a pool table? (lets assume the table is in good shape) Below are my guesses.

1. New cushions (to get rid of the snooker rounds)
2. Does the rail need to be reworked to accept the new cushions? (Lets say for arguments sake you wanted it to play like a GC5 from the factory with Super Speed cushions)
3. Does the slate pocket opening need to be adjusted in size?
4. What else?

Thanks.

On second thought, I think I'll let Mark answer this since he's the one that turned out such a beautiful pool table:grin:

Trust me......it takes a lot of work to convert a snooker to pool......I'm not going to go into everything needed to be done for the job.....that's why I get the job's......but will tell you.....I don't change anything on the slates...I like the deep shelf depth.....I adjust the rails to the slates on snooker tables.

Thank you....but if not for Glen showing his work on here first......getting some mechanic's together.....and a lot of installers together on here......90% of us wouldn't be doing anywhere close to the work we all do today.

(Glen took a lot of so so table guy's and helped make them good installers.)

Glen was a big inspiration in a lot of the work I turn out today.....I give Glen lot's of credit for helping so many people....learn so much.

Glen is truly a great table mechanic....and like a brother to me.

You were just bored with working on pool tables when we first met buddy. Some new ideas on how to work on pool tables and you were ready to go at it again, only in a new direction. All I did for you was give you a new insparation to start doing something new again:grin:

What absolutely gorgeous table Mark. I hope to send my GC rails to you in the next month or so for subrail modifications and Artemis cushions. I will be in contact with you before I send them to make sure that you have time, after seeing how nice this Centennial is I suspect you will be busy for awhile.

Mark will make the time to rebuild your rails you can bet on that...I haven't heard him cry UNCLE yet:grin:

railing needs to go

that table looks like the table that you'd play on when wearing angel wings and floating on clouds. . . . dreamy!

one thing though, i'd seriously re-think the railing set up you have. although they are nice railings they are very out of place in this context. they look like they belong on somebody's porch or front lawn. in fact i'd get rid of them altogether. if for safety code reasons you cannot i'd suggest replacing them with something less visually distracting. something with a darker color and as low as the code will allow 'cause they look a little high. can the people sitting in the arena see the entire table from every seat without the railings getting in their line of sight?

that being said please post the link to the stream and match schedules here whenever you guys got something going on. can't wait to see people mixing it up on that incredible table.

Yes I'm truly busy...I'm restoring 3 centennial tables right now and have 6 sets of rails in the shop....and over 40 tables to get recovered in the next month. I'm happy to have the business from everyone right now....but I will assure you and everyone else.....I will not turn and burn tables or rails just to make the money. I do everything as though it was my table...just how I am.
I get what I ask for when I get the job.....why shouldn't you get what you paid for.

Table

When's the stream action??
I just want to stare at the table.
If there was a live stream of just views of the table I would watch it!
The way mark gets his rails to look and play is next to none period

A table THAT beautiful has to play nice !

I posted a thread and used that pic posted on the net to let others know of a particularly nice table I practiced on for a charity tournament. The table is over 100 mi away (1 way), and I still remember how nicely it played!

Your table is half way across the country, but if I ever get near there, I'd love the chance to play it. I just stare b/c it is just beeeee-oouu-teee-fulll !!
It's like the perfect woman,... attractive, Intelligent, feminine,........ well you get the idea.
5 star baybee ! :smile::thumbup:

I'm in the process of doing 2 more 10' centennial tables for the same place right now.
Hope to have them done in the next 3 months......I'm hoping to make some changes on the next 2 tables......well I think will make a difference.

I'll soon know if I'm right....lmao

Thanks for all the kind word of my work.

W O W !!!!!!!

You are a credit to your industry! Why don't they make tables like this anymore??!!

td

Thank you......that was a lot of work.....but we'll worth it.
Sad thing......I haven't even played a game on the table yet. Lmao
I rolled balls around to check the level....and then had to go to the next job.

I do miss playing.
