How long have you been using your shaft?

Been playing with a Mezz cue for about ten years. It shipped with a first generation Predator 314 and it still shoots as good as new. Played with Moori III tips until recently when I installed a Kamui Black SS. Great cue, great shaft.

    What shaft ?

I like the Predator 314 shaft. Very consistent with great feel. I try to keep the variables in my game to a minimum so if I find something I like, I stick with it.

BEWARE of Trent (Trent Cowgill) of Marley Custom Cues

The part I don't understand is that Trent is getting offers on the cue left and right. Why not refund the deposit, finish the cue, and sell it to someone else? Problem solved and he builds a little confidence and respect from his other customers. it would pay off in the long run. Hope this...

BEWARE of Trent (Trent Cowgill) of Marley Custom Cues

Maybe so but I can't imagine what good an incomplete forearm would be. If the customer could build a cue out of a forearm, he probably doesn't need to pay someone else to build a cue. Just refund the deposit and get on with life. :frown:

What Is Your Pool-Related Superstition ?

I never finish a practice session on a miss. If need be, I'll setup a short straight in shot to finish.

Shout Outs!!! Time to say thanks to the whoever we blame for our addiction!!!

My brother got me started. He was a very good player and a great gambler. Thank you, Robert and RIP. Also, J.D. Chalker. We played each other for about 20 years after I got married. He beat me mercilessly for the first 5 years but taught me about throw, squirt, and a thousand other things...

    Glues

After roughing the back of the tip, I put a drop of thin CA on an index card and then run the tip over the card in a circular motion for a few seconds. Once I'm sure tha CA is perfectly dry, I sand again very lightly until the shine from the CA is gone. (I use 220 grit glued to a block of...

    Carbide CUTTER HELP, Please

I bought a set of the indexed cutters a couple of months ago but I haven't tried em out. I've been using HSS for years and love the way they cut. But I'm not crazy about the frequent sharpening. And you're right, the red bits are crap.

Does replacing a tenon affect playability?

Do you epoxy or white glue? I've been using epoxy but I'm not sure it's necessary.

    Breaking Beyond The Headstring

Even with the kitchen line, people moan and groan about the rule. Do you measure from the bottom of the ball or the front of the ball? Can it be touching the line or must it be behind the line? All for a couple of millimeters closer to the rack. To illustrate the absurdity, I play in a league...

    Simonis 860/300 on 7 footers

That's exactly what we play on in league. And we've been at the same bar for years for that very reason. I love fast cloth, fast rails, and deep pockets.

    Breaking Beyond The Headstring

And that's as it should be. Many league players will wait until after you break and call a foul. My personal opinion is that it's another way for a less competent player to steal a game. :frown:

I'm not sure it takes a monster break to win. At this level, all you need is control of whitey, decent spread, and make one ball. Given that, the top female players have excellent mechanics and can certainly string runs together. I think it would be great for professional pool to to mix it up...
