I could feel the difference with a pad when I played with Schon cues. The pads are normally used with shafts with ivory ferrules to offer some more protection.

Other than the World 8 ball championship,(won by Dennis Orcollo this year) I'm not aware of any.

Quite possibly the best match that they have is Efren VS Mika at the Accu-stats 8 ball invitational in 2001. Mika never missed a ball and still lost.

I remember the match, funny thing is, Johnny was actually pretty mothodical in this match for this time frame (in 92 he played at a real quick tempo). I always thought Johnny played better, when he played fast.
