    Production Break Cues

Honeymoon before the Wedding If you can't find a store where they will let you try out the break cues, the vendors at a place like Derby City will certainly provide such opportunities. Cue satisfaction appears to be quite subjective.

the culprit that threw the pacifier at Earl Strickland

Civility is not a core value in our culture Unfortunately, your emphasis on civility is not representative of our dominant culture. If an extraterrestial being toured our country it might conclude; 1. Fist fights are the essence of hockey. 2. Parents prefer drug abusing, illiterate felons...

What Wrong With The Game We Love?

sex appeal Why do they only show women playing 9-ball on TV? I think the issue is sexism. Most of the women wear tight black outfits like Jeanette Lee. I have even seen Jeanette play in heels. The producers obviously believe that sex rather than the beauty of the game sells. I will acknowledge...

About to spend 5k - Diamond, Brunswick - advice welcome!

cost efficiency Unfinished antiques provide the greatest quality for the money. Many people discard high quality antique tables & trade them in for something "new" to match a remodeled room or house. These are the people who reject Oriental rugs that do not match their color scheme.

    spontaneous lesson yields results

I spotted an excellent player & asked his permission to study him. He offered to go one better & observe me & provide feedback. A short time & a few pointers yielded qualitative leaps in my performance. The experience proved that nothing beats lessons. I had never experienced face to face...

    Break Cue Questions

Derby City Most stores do not stock break cues so you can't try them, however DC will provide such opportunities. As for the contol issue wth phenolic, those issues disappear once your stroke improves. Miscues, scratches etc have disappeared even at my primitive developmental level.

    Different types of phenolic

G-10 & G-11 I had the G-10 ferrule combo installed on my Sledgehammer & find that it is superior to the phenolic in terms of (1) CB control (2) holding chalk (3) harder. I can also hit center ball, thereby getting greater speed & power, without having problems with miscuing or scratching...

Consistency on 8 ball break- help

Cup 50%-70% empty To rephrase the old cliche about the cup 1/2 empty or full. I'm failing to make a ball on 50% to 70% of my breaks. What is going wrong on those occasions?

Consistency on 8 ball break- help

I recently had a G-10 tip installed on my Sledgehammer. I am right handed, use a rail bridge from the left rail & hit the CB low & right (about 5 o'clock). I do the 2nd ball break. I was quite pleased when I recently played on a 9' table & potted 1-4 balls on 11 consecutive breaks. However...
