    Groundhog Day deleted pool scene

Thanks so much for sharing this...after I watched it, the next video in line was about Titanic Thompson...then that led to an interview with my great friend and sponsor Joe Porper. Tons of card tricks followed and I had to force myself to go to bed. Youtube<<<<<worse than heroin....

????Original Color of Money Joss Cue

Just to keep things straight....the cue Forrest Whitaker used was a C-3 model McDermott. Around 80 cues were provided to whoever was in charge of amassing props to do with as they pleased.

    pinning

Maybe I can explain it so that everyone understands.......It is like the cue ball is not even being used....when a player is whacking them in....it is like he is shooting the object ball with his cue...and not the cue ball. Acceleration at the moment of impact plays a very important part of...

    Old cue

I would say that it is an early adams copy of the schmelke type cues and joints that were popular in the 70's.

    *OLD* Joss cue identification request

The refinish job is fine, no need to worry about any perceived value change with the logo. Just keep the before and after pics which will add to the provenance and story that goes with the cue.

Need a new tip, which is best (of the big 3)

If you have a trusty old cue, then you should use the trusty old kind of tip that you have now. Not one of the tips that have been recommended will play like what I assume is installed on your cue presently.

Pros and cons of refurbishing my McDermott C-21

As a collector of McD's, I have seen some very good restorations done by some outside parties, and I have seen some not so good jobs done by some. Being a C-21, and one of their most highly sought after cues, I would only consider using the McDermott team for such work. If it were one of...

C1 vs Scruggs Sneaky, which would you rather?

The C-1 is indeed very hard to find. They were made out of Katz house cue blanks. Jim McDermott requested that the Katz company should provide the blanks in raw form and way oversized, but they just sent them almost finished house cues. The result being, that the joints were kinda small and...

When's the last time you played for money at a bar?

I am guessing the late 60's and early 70's was when I decided to stick to the pool rooms. Me and a buddy had a route that took us to numerous spots where we could win a few bucks or a ton of beer. It was almost a 7 days a week thing, and we could fade most any troublemakers as we were 10 feet...

Who taught you the most important thing?

U.J. Puckett....or some card player ...I really cannot remember that far back....told me....Gambling is for Suckers. So, from then on, I had the best of any game.
