    Just curious what's u'r rating..

This is why the BCA has an advantage; Handicaps are based upon the strength of the local league you are playing in and is limited to just that. At the Nationals each May in Vegas, handicaps are not used. The excitement I believe this National tournament offers is it allows players to compete on...

    Goodbye APA, it's been fun...

I think anytime there is a handicap system (you can see this in local golf clubs too) sandbagging exists. The key is to play above the sandbaggers, have fun and continue to improve your game.

    Goodbye APA, it's been fun...

I do not play in a league, but when I did I always felt a race was by far more exciting than 4 games with wait time. On the other hand, I think that the NO Handicap at Vegas is a bit more thrilling.

    Goodbye APA, it's been fun...

I think you will enjoy the BCA. Lots of people go to Vegas in May. I think you can pay a small santion fee and play in the individuals on short notice. There is no handicap which is an excellent test for your skills. However if you fair really well, you get to move to the Masters which is even...

    Slip Stic, one more time.

First of all, Conditioners are important to protecting the cue's shaft (Cue makers generally condition cue shafts) and are not compounds that need to dry. SlipStic conditioner was designed by chemists to eliminate the need for the add-on shaft slickers and other products. It simply repels grit...

    Slip Stic, one more time.

We sent out 40 about 3 or 4 weeks ago. These were tests as opposed to samples. I received feed back which is why we are modifying the formula. Once we are satisfied with the revision, we will be sending out more test packets.

    Slip Stic, one more time.

We are still selling the original at this time on the site. The new formula has a non-flammable cleaner in it which when applied will completely evaporate leaving no residue at all, just the pure conditioner behind. We are fine tuning the evaporation time. We have one which evaporates in about...

    Chalk Off

I hope this helps. We looked at Blue Coral because we were interested to see if this was a good market to get into. The results were that it worked well but left too much residue on the cloth. If you use it enough times the cloth will slow and you really need to vacuum afterwards. Vacuuming...

Which ONE GAME gives you the most versatility?

I hardy ever play 8 ball but I think that is one game that helps in most other games. (I think 8 ball would be a better game if you played with 45 balls on a 9 ft table with each 8 ball worth a point.)

    When "feel" abandons me.

Wow, some really great advice here Captain. I like snapshots answer. (Anyway, I'll hold off on my comments until a transformation exists acknowledging that on felt, side spin doesn't transfer. Balls twist and OB has side spin as an effect of felt and CB spin. Someone pointed out that the...

research paper, i need your help

You may have heard that "Prophets educate us and Religions poison us." I think pool is much the same as it is an education about us and life, and gambling is the poison. Just making a statement... Anyone want to play for $$?

    Dennis Hatch

Yes he has overcome some obsticles and now he seems focused on what he does so well. He seems to have a bright new outlook and boy so does his game. Pool has been a tough sport to earn a living at and it now seems to be changing for the better. This change should give some of the greats an...

That silky feel of the new shaft.....

One of the biggest problems with cue shafts is how to keep them moisture free. Your best bet is to put nothing on your cue shaft at all. People have tried everything from waxes to polishers (sometimes called slickers). The problem is that all products break down fast and worst is that they mix...

    Jr Players

My 9 yr old plays in a tues. night league. He has no problems playing adults. You might want to encourage your pool room to start league nights at an earlier time so that you can finish by 9pm. Let them know it might just bring them more valuable business. Golf leagues start at 4pm and 5pm, why...

    Room size HELP!

I agree. Much better than to keep interrupting your stroke to accommodate a wall. 8' is a nice size. . . .

    Vacuum attachment

The problem with brushes is that is does push the chalk into the cloth and may damage the felt (some-what). The key is to be gentle while vacuuming. An attachment with just a smooth coil that rides the table would be perfect.

    Vacuum attachment

It may not be yours, the one I reviewed foamed a little on the felt. In the case of that product, the foam (chemical reaction) is what does not evaporate and dries onto the cloth. The concept is good, just need to vacuum up the residue after using that product once and a while.

    Vacuum attachment

You still have to vacuum to get the dry residue off the felt left from the cleaner. I was hoping to find a universal attachment specific to pool felt. If nothing exists, it would be a great product for some one in the plactics business to come up with. .

    Vacuum attachment

Does anyone know of a gentle vacuum attachment that could be used on felt? Has anyone built one? I'm looking for one that can reduce the suction so that it does not pull the felt and still be able to pull the chalk and dust from it. Also, one that can get under the rails easily too.
