Any Updates? Colin get her off your lap!

I'm sorry because I know someplace this was discussed. Cory has a lower % winning than Boys yet boyes 3 5's and cory 3 8's. If cory does a 5 and Boyes an 8 on their last games played, does this mean boyes goes on and cory does not?

Anyone else shorten their bridge on the break?

Thanks for the clarification. When I heard the comment I immediately thought about the change I made some time ago. It made an enormous difference in some added power plus my body seems to be in better position for better stroke though for control. Thanks again for the explanation.

    Day 3 Results

I know Cory D is hanging tight with fewer 8 ball runs, I would like to see him get in stroke and win. I have many favorites and he is my hopeful. My son likes Kid D, but I do not think he's going to make it. The reality is so many favorites. D. Hatch just might be the unsuspecting winner.

Bustamante has the record of most B&R in a match @ 7!

Archer has 17 8 ball runs out of 32 games in current group matches.

Anyone else shorten their bridge on the break?

Another note is about Earl's statement in the current IPT event. Flair open your front foot and get a much harder break with less effort. I remember last year I was playing around with this and found that it is less restrictive. I know this is about bridges, just thought I'ld bring this one up...

    What To Do Here?

This makes the most sense. Very funny post. I would play it to hit the 5 with running english. Not too hard. The running english will get the CB out of there even if you hit the 8 first by accident. Speed is important as with most shots. Lots of room for success. Whenever there is a risk of...

IPT - Results and Queries here!

How is Cory Deuel doing? I do not hear about him so much lately. He is a top player, just nothing much about him.

    Well Done Colin....

Great job. I was pulling for you. Ralph is a tough one, no doubt. It was nerve racking just waiting for the final post of your last match. I fought to stay awake. At least you got by your first one out of your way and quite respectably.

    Race to 8?????

Right. I would never say any game is too easy in pool. I think 8 ball is easier than 9 by a little though I believe 10 ball should be the game with "Call ball".

    Race to 8?????

Statistics can hide quite a bit (sexy girl in a bathing suit). You must look at the field when comparing %'s. The IPT has Pros, Strong A, A and B players playing. You can not compare this to the US Open were most are pros and very strong A's. I stand by 8 ball will undoubtedly yield a much...

    Race to 8?????

There is a degree of luck in a single match though playing everyone in your group reduces it. The lessor players got some wins because of the race to 8 but they still had to play others in their group. This seems like a pretty good format. The stronger players losing one match were able to play...

IPT should be on 7 footers or 8 footers!!

I find the congestion an advantage as these balls are stops for position at times and it requires less cb movement to break up clusters. The weaker player has an advantage to play better safes. I think this is why so many go to national BCA tournaments because they are barboxes and many feel...

IPT should be on 7 footers or 8 footers!!

Many enjoy playing bar box and for good reason; it makes it is less intimidating from the beginning to middle player. I too played in a barbox league for a very short time. The problem is it's more difficult to weed out the super greats from the greats from the very good players. I can remember...

    Tips On This Shot?

I agree. Keep it simple, make the shots. There is a lot of distance to the 8 so speed control isn't such a big factor. Smooth strokes all the way.

    Tips On This Shot?

Great shot on the 6. I would have just played the 7 with follow (not hard) to get to any place 6 inches short of the side pocket. Played the 8 with middle just to get a couple inches off the rail with the CB.

    Breaking News

Horrible news. I can imagine how he feels. I hope things can get put in order soon enabling him to compete in future events. This does sound awkwardly suspicious though. Does it to you? Is there something a delagate can do here?

    Thin Cut Shot

Right about multiple rails and correct about soft (rolls). But again 9 ball winners are not those that shoot only hangers. IMO this is a much less than "Medium Difficult shot" based on my setting it up and trying it last night. It is not an unusual shot to make. Any shot can be missed. As I...

    Thin Cut Shot

You do not see this as a usual 9 ball shot holding the CB for the 2 and running out? I realize that most posts here talk about making shots and playing safeties. I think if a few posts made on some defensive kick shots after a safe may startle some into "I better play the shot while I have it...

    Thin Cut Shot

I set it up also and played it with IS and then with OS english and kept the CB for the 2 ball next just off the bottom rail. W/IS I could hit the ball with better speed. OS was a little slower shot but still worked quite well. Tried it on a Brunswich w/860. So there are many ways to play it...

    Larry Hubbard vs. Mike Sigel?

Many miss not having these greats in Rochester anymore. Even Pool shark52 (Pat H.) left us for Fla. Funny though each time Poolshark52 visits us, the room gets full of serious players. When he is gone, its back to ussual business. Yes the league players and couples playing brings in...
