This reminds me of what Barry Berhman had to say about Sigel in this 2012 US Open. Barry was talking it up in the introduction of Efren as the best pool player on the planet. Efren was sitting stoically in his chair, apparently ignoring all of this BS being spouted. Barry told of Houston in...

I think you and CJ Wiley have it right and get the genius awards.

    Punky Jones...Hagerstown, MD?

I guess I forgot to mention that these matches took place a long long time ago, when Punky supposedly shot a LOT better than he does now. Personally, when I saw him shoot for the first time a year ago, I was doubtful too about how good he used to be. But then I heard the Punky stories. What...

Absolutely not. When I recently mentioned AZBilliards to him he said: "what's that?". Mike is not that stupid to get on here and argue with a bunch of chumps.

"Aim Small" on the Cue Ball

Let me put all of this talk into perspective. When I played pool in Charlottesville Va. in the late 60's, the best 9 ball player in town was a guy name Bobby Anderson. He could beat the brains out of any you guys posting on this thread. Bobby loved to play for money and went to Richmond a few...

    Punky Jones...Hagerstown, MD?

I believe they were playing one pocket - a whole different game than 9 ball.

    Punky Jones...Hagerstown, MD?

Punky played in the APA Masters league in Champions in Frederick about a year ago. It was a pleasure to watch him in action. Supposedly, Punky beat Earl Strickland at an early age in Hagerstown I believe it was for some big money. Earl's backers got really pissed, so they called up from NC to...

What do you do when the CB is bigger than the OB's?

Bar boxes have heavier bigger cue balls so they can be retrieved if you scratch without having to put in more quarters. Go to the AIMING FORUM - maybe they have a scientific solution :rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1: Sorry to be so cynical, as I don't believe in aiming methods...

    My new 9' Diamond Pro

I don't know if I should start out by calling you a meathead, but nonetheless. In the pool cue and cases business, and other pool accessories, the manufacturers always sell at full retail. They don't want to undercut their dealers.

"Aim Small" on the Cue Ball

What do you think the pros are doing in that last 1-2 second pause before they pull the final trigger? Like John Schmidt says: "they all do it". This is a related subject that should not be ignored when mentioning aiming to a point on the object ball in a non-sloppy manner.

He is working on a special project. That's all I can say for now.

    My U.S. Open

In retrospect, Barry should have moved the event to another city with a civic center. The seating was absolutely horrible. He said he has something in the works that will be much better next year, but with all the money problems he had I am very suspect.

Least expensive price per hour you can remember

The old Sportsman poolhall in downtown Roanoke. 10 cents a rack in the late 60s. Women were not allowed. Elephant legged pool tables with spittoons everywhere. Like all good things coming to an end, the Sportsman closed. I have an article written by Mike Ives about the Sportsman closing I...

    I need a name....???

Buck Fisher. Did you ever see him play 9 ball in his prime, about 25 years ago? Nobody (local) could beat him. And Paul Buckman was a player, along with Punky Jones who beat Earl twice for big money about 30 years ago. According to Paul Buckman, at one pocket there was Strawberry, then...

    Q Masters altercation?

I have seen wolverines chase a bear up a tree over a food fight. Plus Wolverines have been known to attack grizzly bears over food. I saw a wolverine march in on 5 wolves and take their lunch. A wolverine knows no fear, only insatiable hunger.

    Q Masters altercation?

Wasn't it the late Grady Matthews who used to say that Efren was the luckiest man on earth when it came to shooting pool?

Here comes a dead horse. SVB talk.

The match between the Terminator and Orcullo is where it started. Neils complained that the 2 ball was not settling in and the ball next to the 2 ball was going in, NOT THE WING BALL. I was in the stands watching and heard all of the comments. Neils even pointed to the ball next to the 2 ball...

Here comes a dead horse. SVB talk.

The only ball I recall that Shane missed was that side pocket shot early on in the match. Plus, what ever the Accu-Stats rating is, it doesn't come close to depicting how good Shane shot. Unbelievable long shots, off the rail long shots with a significant cut. Long shots down the rail passing...
