Controlled easy break or slam the balls?

I believe this could be only due to balls that were not round - correct? Bottom line: if you want to be a perfectionist, then bring the newest Arimith set of balls with the Magic Set.....or in the least the Sardo Rack, my favorite.

Controlled easy break or slam the balls?

As much as I hate the Magic Rack, this seems to be the only solution.

What is the difference between a pool Hustler and a pool Shark?

A hustler tries to rob you and a pool shark is just a good player.

How much difference does a balance point make?

Well, for what's it's worth, Keith McCready has said on here that he likes forward weighted cues. IMHO, I cannot feel a cue having a neutral balance. The Pendulum effect is minimized as you cannont feel the cue. I cannot stand cues that are too light, unless of course they are forward...

Controlled easy break or slam the balls?

Why take the fun out of breaking? How about a medium/hard to hard stroke? I have been working on my terrible break for years, never making anything on the controlled breaks anyway. I have a Predator BK2. Turned my back foot to where it sits almost 90% to the cueball path (allows me to push...

New way to shape your tip...using your foot

Personally, I wouldn't worry about grinding off too much initially. From what I have heard, you are supposed to cut down on the real estate of the tip so that it will play better. Why do you think pros play with tips that to a normal observer are almost worn out?

New way to shape your tip...using your foot

I would like to see him to a hard Kamui with that tool. Would take 20 minutes, trust me.

Initially shaping the flat tip w/o a lathe

I will keep this in mind. But for $9 I bought a file, which is still a 20 minute process on a hard tip. Is this tool more aggressive than a file? It looks kind of short to me. Maybe I will go look for a more agressive file. Thanks!

You say APA is for bangers?

No no no no no! The APA would ban these players from the APA because they play in pro tournaments and win money doing it.

    Aim System or Common sense?

Blah Blah Blah for aiming systems. Most pros admit to spinning the cue ball, especially Earl and Mike Sigel. There was an article on AZ about 3 years back with postings from a magazine or newspaper, I forget which. Now I ask anyone, how in the frick can you do all this spinning and have an...

Initially shaping the flat tip w/o a lathe

I think I found the ulitmate tool. Talked to someone at Mueller's who put tons of tips on and shaped using the Joe Porper Cue Rite Cue Tip Shaper. Mueller has a picture item 7250 and the BLADE is 7275 - will fit perfectly in a drill. He eventually stopped using the shaper and used just the...

You say APA is for bangers?

I thought the same thing, but I know that Joey has a dynomite break - agreed, it must have been a long shit. This story is true - I have heard it from more than one person. This was done on a bar table.

You say APA is for bangers?

There are some VERY good amateurs in the APA. In Md there was a player named Joey Ryan who was playing in a Masters playoff. His opponent chose 9 ball and told Joey to shoot while he went to the restroom. When he got back Joey had just finished running 7 racks to close out the match.

Initially shaping the flat tip w/o a lathe

A lathe can overheat the tips also. Mike Capone showed me how he sprays the tip with water as the lathe is spinning. He said he destroyed a few layered tips before figuring this out.

    Joint protectors?

When I used to have an inferior Porper case I used wine bottle corks - worked GREAT as you can get them out easily whenever you wanted. That's what I like about Instroke Cases - the cue shafts just hang there and don't touch the bottom. Great for my 3 piece jump cues. A while back I went to...

Initially shaping the flat tip w/o a lathe

What is the fastest and best way to shape a new installed tip? Hard tips are murder for me to sit there with a file and shape the tip. When I finally get the tip to a near nickle shape, I finish it off with a Willard nickel or dime tool. I was thinking of buying an 'arbor adaptor' for use...
