Do carbon fiber cue shafts make custom cues obsolete?

I'm still playing with a custom maple shaft. Nice long taper, 12.4 mm and not spliced nor low deflection technology. Only technology is the growth rings baked in by Mother Nature.

Did Mark Wilson finally kill "aiming systems" ?

My "aiming system" is oriented around perception and stance. It's debatable that the term "aiming system" is exactly descriptive, but I don't care. It gets my eyes on the correct line, encourages correct approach to the shot and also body alignment and is both easy and repeatable. System...

    Taom 2.0 Break/Jump vs Phenolic

Sounds like the key is to avoid cloth contact. I don't break with that style break anyway, so Taom is probably fine for me.

That, or do a big money ring game with elite players....that would be cool too.

    Taom 2.0 Break/Jump vs Phenolic

My Zento break tip has a chip that blasted off somehow. I was checking out other things to try and found these Taom tips for sale. Reading the description of the product on Seybert's has sold me on it 100%. I'm going to order it today, how can I not? It will fulfill my lust for "dozens of...

Morra and Shaw on MR break rules and pocket size

Yeah, predicting the shots and patterns is part of the fun of watching pool. The only problem for me is that watching pool just makes me want to play pool, so I just go do that. I've not turned on the TV since February though, so I'm not your average media consumer. Now that I think about it...

Pool? If you can only play one game?

9 ball is fun to play, but boring to watch. Onepocket has many shots to select for any given turn at the table, and I am continuously surprised as to what players choose to play, much more so than any other game. Onepocket has me rewinding more often than any other game in order to try to...

Pool? If you can only play one game?

I appreciate your contrarian perspective. Luck evens out in the long run, rendering call shot and / or slop meaningless. IMHO of course.

Morra and Shaw on MR break rules and pocket size

I think you and I agree more than not. All I mean about Fargo is that it measures long term performance...and I think a top prize based on points standing at the end of a season would reward similarly approximate long term performance. I am especially like you regarding my viewership of pro...

Morra and Shaw on MR break rules and pocket size

To me, a similar concept would be to have a year long season and just pay out the top prize based on accumulated points throughout the season....that's kinda what fargo ratings are to me in a sense. However, luck adds excitement....I'm in that camp....so keep on as per the norm as far as I'm...

Morra and Shaw on MR break rules and pocket size

Shaw and Morra are Matchroom deep state operatives. They are part of a global cabal trafficking 4" pockets with deep shelves everywhere. Everybody knows that....

    Shane vs. Fedor

Yes, it's a killer room for sure. Worth a visit for any pool enthusiast. KY weather is notoriously unpredictable though, so who knows what we will actually get. September is historically our dryest month. A few years ago, it didn't rain a drop for that entire month. Trust me, Ill never...

Morra and Shaw on MR break rules and pocket size

I'd like to see more round robin events where everyone plays everyone else. That's a better test for an elite field and removes luck from the draw. Requires a shorter field of elite players though. Can do double elim qualifiers to see who makes it to the round robin event.

Pool? If you can only play one game?

Onepocket for me as well. Notable second would be ten ball ..but I guess if I had to pick only one.... onepocket it would be.

    Shane vs. Fedor

Good question, I'm interested in sweating the last day in person as well. Also, what time of day will play start each day I wonder? No info other than dates on the website that I can find.

    Shane vs. Fedor

Regardless of how the money is distributed, we will all know great pool when we see it, no? Honestly, it's pitiful to me that the stars in our sport have to gamble to make money. No one is asking pro athletes in other sports to wager before each match. No knock on gambling at all, just saying...

Morra and Shaw on MR break rules and pocket size

To be honest, this debate has been going on for decades now. I even took a pool here eons ago about pocket size...I'd guess 12 years ago now....it got a massive amount of replies and kind of took on a life of its own. Fast forward to now, and I don't think pocket size matters much at this...
