Where's all the talk about moving to 10' tables?

9ft Pro Am's are already one piece. Diamond has dollys to move the tables fully assembled with the legs tucked inside. It works out nicely.

Where's all the talk about moving to 10' tables?

Its my understanding that Diamond has four 10 footers in the works. Two with one piece slate. Now that the straight rail tables are finished the 10's are next in line.

    Poll: smoking and pool

I have never smoked I have no desire to smoke I do not enjoy breathing smoke If cigarettes are legal it should be legal to smoke them on privately owned property. I can go along with no smoking in a government building - courthouse, DMV etc. Or hospitals... In a privately owned business the...

    Does this action constitute unsportsmanship?

Running a tournament or league is not a cake walk. It can be a thankless pain in the a$$. In the case of the original post the tournament director might not know this rule himself. The only reason I became educated about it is we had an identical problem with a player. (he no longer stops the...

    Does this action constitute unsportsmanship?

It's already the rule. I cant find a link and I'm not going to type it all out. Deliberate fouls are defined in the BCA General Rules It is a deliberate foul to do anything during your turn at the table other than a legal stroke of the cue ball. You may only touch the cue ball if you have...

    Refinishing a Schon

I couldn't have been happier with the job Schon did repairing on of my R series cues. Perfect work and a lightning fast turn around time. The cue needed work because two ebony rings in the butt sleeve had cracked. To me unless your cues have structural damage leave them the way they are. Small...

Who would like to see Diamond produce a Pro pocket, 5x10 ProAm?

Glen I love the idea but how many 10' tables would diamond have to sell each year to make money? If you are not talking about one piece slate to me they need to build the frame and slate for pool and 3 cushion. Just my humble opinion.

Who would like to see Diamond produce a Pro pocket, 5x10 ProAm?

If Diamond builds a 10' pool table a billiard table is just a rail change away

What would be your ruling of this foul?

Many times during safety battles in 8 ball games I have directly shot in my opponents ball or my opponent has directly shot in mine. These are balls illegally pocked as a result of a foul. They are not spotted. Illegally pocketed balls are not spotted in 8 ball. To me player b's inning at the...

What would be your ruling of this foul?

I guess the way I interpret the rules is that in 8 ball the ball would be returned to its position before the shot. Not spotted. No point for player b. The intentional/deliberate foul issue is the important one. I don't know if player b subscribes to the school of thought "I can only foul once...

What would be your ruling of this foul?

I could be wrong but I believe these are bank pool rules

What would be your ruling of this foul?

If player B: 1. knew he had committed a foul 2. had time to stop after foul was called 3. shot the ball anyway it is an intentional foul and punishable at the league operators discretion.

    O'Neil Cue Cases

Just got off the phone with Mark. Not sure where the misunderstanding is but O'Neil rarely built leather cue cases and he recommends against it for durability reasons. Sounded like he has built very very few and Mark has been building cases since the 60's. Leather would add between 75.00 and...
