One guy uses the magic rack - Everyone else the wooden rack

But baseball players can wear elbow protection to let them crowd the plate. Golfers can choose which clubs they use on any given day as well as what ball they use. And those clubs? Tweaked for hours to get the best possible swing for that particular player's idiosyncrasies.

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Started a NAPA singles league tonight. I needed 4 in a 4-3 10-ball race. Won 4-1. This past weekend I went down to NYC and had a very good lesson with Fran Crimi. While I'm certainly not going to jump a level overnight, I've already been practicing some of the things we went over and I feel...

One guy uses the magic rack - Everyone else the wooden rack

To be blunt, this post makes you sound very immature: you didn't get what you wanted so you gave up. Aren't you supposed to "show some heart" and "outrun the nuts*"? As for the TD's decision, it doesn't matter. No matter how right you think you are, you will never get every decision your way...

Heading to San Francisco first week of march

Last time I was in San Francisco, I took the train down to Mountain View and had a lesson with Bob Jewett. Totally worth the trip.

Practice table size - 7 footer or 9 footer???

I have a 9' table at home and play league on 7' tables. I love having a 9' table and don't really have problems moving over to play on the barbox. If you can find a house that can accommodate it, definitely get a 9' table.

how are ya'll doing in league ?

That's pretty much what I did in Atlanta. My roommate, on the other hand, partied literally all night (if he didn't have to play the next day). So NAPA just updated their 10-ball rule. It's not what I would like to see (I like being able to call "safe" and pocket a ball) but I don't think...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

I went to Nationals last year. From what I heard, Atlanta had lower turnouts than previous years. As for payouts, I think low payouts together with a $90/night hotel and tournament organizers staying in the penthouse made for a lot of unrest. I'm not going to Nationals this year. It's an 8...

When Will Matchroom's MC points be clear?

I agree and when I posted, I was actually thinking how performance translates into viewership. Matchroom wants/needs two teams that will go the distance, not have an imbalance that results in one team getting knocked out with a day left to go.

When Will Matchroom's MC points be clear?

While you're clearly a good 'merican, you ignore the small fact that Matchroom isn't an American company and they're the ones putting this little shindig together. You must always obey the golden rule: He who has the gold, rules. I wouldn't worry too much. If the US team doesn't pick up...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Final night of a loooong NAPA session (21 weeks). I won the lag and chose 10-ball. I needed 4 in a 4-3 race. I won 4-2. My opponent didn't have any discretion when it came to the game. He took ridiculous chances on combinations to pocket the 10 early. In the two games he won, the first...

This is why I'm not a fan of gambling with people i dont know.

Guy can't pot 2 consecutive shots but then suggests we play for money? My answer is "no".

Should pro players play on 7ft table tourneys?

Given the dearth of pool tournaments in the US these days, if you prohibit pros from playing events with 7' tables, they won't be able to make a living at it and therefore won't be pros anymore and thus able to play events with 7' tables.

Pool sucks, because of you A-holes!!

Coming on the Internet and criticizing people and calling them names while decrying negativity is the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black.

In Defense of Pro Pool Players

To echo jasonlaus a little bit, the state of pro pool is really in the players' hands right now. The players have to do more to promote themselves and the game to get people interested in what happens at a tournament. Once people start caring, they will/may start paying to watch and then the...

    League situation

Agree to disagree? The only argument I can see for needing to see if your opponent fouls is if he's dishonest. If your opponent is honest, he will tell you when he fouls. One game? Sure. One match? Not so much. Last night my match dragged on to the point that I was ready to concede just...

    League situation

I always feel like these questions have a "if a tree falls in the woods..." kind of vibe. The truth is that the foul happened whether or not the opponent witnessed it. What if it Player B was paying attention but Player A was blocking his view on that shot? Or the waitress walked by at that...
