My LED bulbs are 8', and there are 6 of them in the fixture. They have the LED strip full length in clear tube that is frosted full length on opposite side. Just rotate them in the fixture to adjust output. There is no glare with the frosted panels.
They were actually an afterthought. Initially I put in the LED's and a friend let me try his diffusors to see how well they worked. It was horrible, a very noticeable grid all over the entire playing surface. That is when i went looking alternatives.

It's not about being smart enough to do all the things he says. A lot has to do with the fact that he is teaching a way of seeing object ball to pocket alignments, and banks actually, from 1 visual perspective and at the same time giving the user no less than 3 different...
Because your visual alignment is actually on your aim line. If your vision is offset somewhat you could place your bridge on that offset and then pivot to center without it looking "off". Not telling you which may be better for you, just responding to your "For whatever reason".
Look up Lanza Billiards in Philly. They were the first to come up with the "quiet return system" apparently with at least 3 patents as early as the 40's. I had one of their tables, a 10 ft snooker, with drop pockets. I have a video of it on FB.
