    CTE Testimonials

Largely, the info you get here is based on ignorance so discussions here are completely fruitless, so if you are truly interested then go about the available teachings as needed. The Truth series is free, go there first. If that gets you going then that is the goal. If you need more info there...

Has anyone been able to host a raffle elsewhere? If not, and there's demand, I can set one up within a day or two.

I've bought raffle tickets for boats, shotguns, pistols, pool cues, little bit of everything over the years and never once ever heard of anyone getting 1099's.

Has anyone been able to host a raffle elsewhere? If not, and there's demand, I can set one up within a day or two.

There was some of both, as I mentioned in my earlier post. The were a few of us who regularly had product up for raffle, me, Tommy1351, Rossaroni, and the infamous Mr Peppers I mentioned before. There were others I don't remember who tried on occasion but they were obviously way off the mark on...

Has anyone been able to host a raffle elsewhere? If not, and there's demand, I can set one up within a day or two.

That did happen, though I'm not sure what the final straw was other than Mike Howerton stopped allowing them. Legality may have been some of it, though I can't imagine why AZB would be liable for anything. Legally I think a portion of profits has to go to charity, but then who is to say if there...

What size drill to use for undersized Cuetec 3/8-14 tap?

It does make a difference, in that all Unified V threads should be radiused 1/8" of the pitch of the thread for strength, so much better than sharp V thread. If your point was that sharp threads are good enough for cues, you may be right.

What size drill to use for undersized Cuetec 3/8-14 tap?

Ok guys, so I found the pic from Cuetec of their 3/8-14 tap they sell, below. So it looks just like any other standard screw thread except they reduced the OD by .015". To me, since proportionally it looks normal, my guess is everything else about the diametrical aspects of the tap have reduced...

What size drill to use for undersized Cuetec 3/8-14 tap?

Well, from what I can determine, the difference is stated as being a .360 OD as opposed to a .375 OD. But what else is undersized? 30 Degree threads load on "pitch diameter", not OD. My statement earlier was based on standard .375 od. Who knows why Cuetec would fool around with that when a 9mm...

Tailstock Chucks - how to identify / pick the better one

With tools buy the best you can justify and afford, in that order. That said, there is no better chuck on the market than Albrecht keyless, and used properly they never slip.

What size drill to use for undersized Cuetec 3/8-14 tap?

Looks like you're tap drill is severely too small. There should be a flat on the crest of the thread,,,,, those are ragged because of the sharp edge. Real machinists use the simple calculation of Diameter - Pitch to determine tap drill size. For 3/8-14 that would calculate to .303",,,,,,,,, try...

    Hearing Aids

This is a good thread for me. About 4 years ago I went for a ear checkup because my right ear constantly felt stopped up, like water in it or wax buildup or something. Come to find out I had a disease called Cholesteatoma which eats away the bones and does other nasty stuff in the ear, all of it...

    Glue side on tips?

Oh I know, that question was purely for the ones who said it doesn't matter, just like the pad on the bottom of a sniper.

Anyone ever install a Sniper upside down, or a Kamui Clear?

How long to wait after trimming a turning blank

If it needs filling with resin or whatever leave it to the cuemaker to do. You won't be doing him any favors doing it yourself.

    Glove size

Hey if it works right,,,,,, I wonder if it may be the brand of shaft. I have only 1, have never had but that 1 and it's a Cuetec. So I wonder if there is much difference from brand to brand of CF shafts. I can only assume there would be. I've made quite a few shafts over the years and can't say...
