Antique Sure Strike 9 ft Pool Table, Phoenix, AZ

I have an antique Sure Strike pool table from 1920-1940 complete with original clay balls and triangle rack. In very good shape for it's age with the only "problem" being one of the slates is cracked as shown in the picture. I bought it for a good deal with the intentions of keeping it until we...

    Dress for pool success.......footwear?

For shoes that look classy and are just flat out comfortable you can't beat a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction's with a rubber bottom. Hands down the most comfortable dress shoe I own. Here's the ones I have, I like a square toe so they work for me, plus they're non-slip with the rubber bottom...

Good pool hall near the Las Vegas strip

The two closest rooms are Best Billiards which is east of the strip on Flamingo about 4 miles off the strip, and Cue Club which is east of the strip on Sahara and is about a mile off the strip but a mile or two north of Paris. Paris is right off Flamingo so a taxi ride to either one should be...

need help with break shot / not hitting cue ball center

Line it up, then stare exactly where you want to hit the cue ball when you break. The rack doesn't move so there's no need to look at the ob when you break. I stare at the cb all the way through impact and follow through. Almost like a golf swing.

I share your pain. I only have 6 cues right now but I feel things getting worse. My wife is not happy about it either. You should post some pics of your collection in the gallery section. I love to look at other peoples cues. It kinda pacifies my addiction.

    Magic Rack Material Change

The 2 problems with a "cloth" magic rack are this. 1. Cloth is way too thick. Have you ever played with a break cloth and had a ball roll over the break cloth? It completely changes the direction of the ball. If you make it as thin as a magic rack it would have to be a completely different...

    Best break cue materials?

My first thought would be to take some off your break. There's no reason to break that hard unless you're in a break speed contest. Also I'd bet you're control hitting them that hard is probably less then desirable. Look at Shane, he has the best break in the game and he's not crushing 'em. Then...

    Questions for Mike Dechaine

I commented in the other thread that I don't know enough about you to pass judgement on your character, and while I don't know you personally I think this thread has given me enough to say you're a stand up guy and what you've shown in this thread is contradictory to what was posted about you. I...

That's a good comparison. Not great yet, if he keeps improving like he is the sky's the limit though. My point was just that in other sports you don't see people piling on a good player just because they're cocky, it's almost embraced in other sports. Look at Usain Bolt, he's as COCKY as they...

To each his own, but you put that "humble" team up against my "cocky" team in skill or popularity and my "cocky" team wins hands down. MJ was another cocky player. Lemme guess you don't like him either? People are obviously gonna have different opinions on Mike but my point is don't confuse...

Apparently, Predator, one of the biggest names in pool, feels he's worthy of sponsorship. The thing that makes me laugh about people complaining about how he's arrogant and cocky is this. In every other major sport the superstars are the most cocky, arrogant people in their sport and the most...

According to Mike while doing commentary during Turning Stone he is no longer with the APA. He said he is now sponsored by Predator which will allow him to be a full time pool player.

Like him or not he is one of the top 3 Americans right now. I don't know enough about him personally to form an opinion on him as a person but as a pool player you have to respect him. From what I've seen of him on streams, TAR, the Mosconi Cup etc. he is a strong player and only getting better...
