VNEA is there a cue amount rule?

Looked at length at the VNEA rule book. Nowhere was I able to find a statement on either the number of cues allowed to the table or a physical description of a legal cue. Know there is a 40" minimum rule and a maximum weight rule in other leagues but nothing is stated in the VNEA rule book. Lyn

VNEA is there a cue amount rule?

Jason, The Joss Northeast Tour has a two cues to the table rule. Had to implement the rule as some players were bringing three or four to the table. Usually one was a very, very light cue to jump with as there are no jump cues allowed. If you give a quality player an inch, they'll take a...

    League players vs just players

Hang, Want to comment on your last post before you edited it. Specially the part about players wanting lower handicaps instead of learning to "spin" a ball. Full blame belongs to the APA and its "anyone can win" philosophy. Anyone can not win! I'd be glad to play the national champion APA...

    League players vs just players

Hate to admit it but you're spot on! The APA is a fertile arena for complainers. Used to love it when my opponent or their captain told me "I'm a professional and should be barred". Most always answered them by telling them "why don't you practice more and complain less"! BCAPL/VNEA/ACS is...

    Sad loss of the Houseman

Not sure if this thread was an epitaph for the specific Cue-Nique "houseman" or just "housemen" in general? The late houseman at a few local pool rooms in Rochester was Ralph Donato. He was a gruff old guy who did all the things you described in your post. He was never at a loss for a kind...

Best win percentage in your apa league

Easy answer to that one lorider, nearest APA Masters league is 90 miles away in the Syracuse, NY area. I've been invited to join. If you factor in fuel, NYS Thruway tolls and the time necessary to drive round trip, it's just not feasible. Thanks for the suggestion though. When I began...

Best win percentage in your apa league

Understand your frustration as well. Just seems APA doesn't care about having high ability players as part of their format. Truly enjoyed the company of my team mates. That and that alone is why I continued playing for a total of eight years. Would guess my earnings for the entire time was...

Best win percentage in your apa league

The key word here is WANT. Gave up trying to teach. Gave up trying to coach. When players who have fifteen or so years of APA play and are still a "4" and do not know how to draw the cue ball, it is a waste of my time trying to help! Sad part of all this is my local BCAPL affiliated league...

Best win percentage in your apa league

Well us820, my stats for eight years of play in our local APA league are ridiculous. Played three sessions per year but only eight or so matches per session. Including my three trips to Regionals and one to Nationals in singles, APA claims I lost 16 matches. After checking each years stats, I...

Open Question: Does it matter to you if a manufacturer moves "US" product overseas?

John, Your post is a reasoned view of the real world and how it operates. No one factor is the driving force behind the loss of American jobs. Everything seems so simple. The solutions talked about by our leaders seem so simple. If they really were, we'd have fixed them by now. In every...

Open Question: Does it matter to you if a manufacturer moves "US" product overseas?

Well 9, next time you or a family member get really ill and require medical treatment, you'll be thanking a union of American workers who fought for that benefit and the government regulations that guaranteed them. Or you or your loved one can go to the company they work for and ask them to pay...

Yes, Griff's opened last fall. Mr Griffin found a Brunswick GC snooker table is someones basement and had it refinished. Great looking table. Nothing but golf played on it. Must not have been economically feasible to keep it. Took up the space of two tables. Did you play at Gorilla? My...
