    Admin Abuse Of Power

He reached out to the admin and attempted to communicate. I’d say that’s fair and reasonable.

    Full splice lost art

I’m by no means an expert but the weirdest take away in this thread for me is that some people think coring is a shortcut. It’s been nothing but a process for me.

    Full splice lost art

How long have you been building cues? Coring is a lot of work and it has little to do with short cutting how patient you are turning a cue down? Ever had a nice piece of buckeye Burl blowup on the lathe? Sure did feel solid. Never would have thought about that weak spot, it was so small. Felt...

    Cue ID help

Seems like it’s one of those cues that’s easy to justify moving on from in the moment but you’d regret later. I say keep it.

Vintage / Antique Cue Info Needed

530 is a pipe dream. This is like 50 bucks. Maybe up to 150 for something pristine and a buyer who’s into this stuff.

    I doubt they do.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

Do those FB groups allow politics? It’s my belief. If the mod wants to pull posts per day we can discuss further. It’s my opinion and I’ll stand by it based on personal experience here.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

If there’s one thing I know it’s that things are always changing. What worked here 20 years ago might not work today. In the spirit of progress and building participation we should consider changing things.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

I see expansion across social media no doubt but I also see wider participation on message boards in the guitar/music, watches, knives and handful of other hobbies compared to here. If you don’t go on FB how do you know that’s where people went? What’s the biggest FB billiard group look like...

    Politics in a billiards forum?

Do those facebook groups openly abandon the hobby to argue politics? Can’t imagine that would be a good group if they do.

Site wide in general participation is down. Do you not recognize that?

    Politics in a billiards forum?

You’re not wrong. In the spirit of seemingly protecting the concept of free speech it’s lead to this place devolving. We are talking about 20-30 people over a 20 year period that have whittled this place down to it’s current state. …and that is exclusive to the NPR with the exception of a...

    Politics in a billiards forum?

That used to not be the case. But in my opinion allowing it here has lead to it permeating the whole forum and people have just vacated. In hindsight allowing it didn’t protect anything.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

It’s the 10% that aren’t that’s the issue. Had a member recently that I’ve known for years. Done good business with. Then he wants to hop on a plane and fight. WTF is wrong with people. Identity politics is ridiculous.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

As a regular participant in the NPR its sheer existence creates site wide issues. I don’t see the value but I don’t mind blowing off steam like others. It is what it is. I can separate the two but based on the behavior of some here a lot of people cannot. The hobby forums that thrive...

Looking for complete lathe set up for just shafts.

Hightower has some basic setups that aren’t terribly expensive. Have you looked there? A small metal lathe from harbor freight would be a cheap consideration.
