anyone here use a break shaft on their player?

I played a guy one night in my 9 ball league and he had a predator BK2 which had the uni-lock quick release joint. He broke with the break shaft and then quickly switched to the 314-2 with the uni-lock joint to play the game. He did it so smooth because of that style joint and the match went...

Spalted Burl Ivory Monster AE Artistic Engineering

It's too nice for a bar beater, but I'm not the owner. It was made to play pool with so go for it........I play with all of my cues so I can understand if you want to start playing with it.

How rare is it to be able to do this?

Larry is one of the few players I've ever seen play that I think could shoot this shot corner to corner and draw the cue ball all the way back into the pocket where he started. He has the most powerful stroke I've ever seen and I heard Billy Incardona say the same thing doing commentary in an...

How rare is it to be able to do this?

That's very impressive to have that kind of power plus accuracy in your stroke! You could poll a 100 descent players and if you found 5 out of 100 who could do this I'd be surprised. The balls and the cloth would need to be clean and an excellent stroke to go corner to corner and draw the ball...

    Mark Wilson's New Book

I couldn't agree with you more. The young guys today have books, videos, teachers (coaches in some cases), and they start out doing everything the right way. I've lost a lot of time playing the wrong way, but like the old saying goes "it's never too late" I'm still getting better even if I did...

    Moori Medium Equivalent?

Thanks for the link and that's excellent information. With so many fakes in the market today it's easy to get swindled into buying something that isn't the real deal. This link tells it like it is with Moori tips.

    Arthritis and Jumping

I have the same problem (tendinitis in my right shoulder) so I use the dart method to jump balls and it works pretty well after you get the feel of it.

Just In..... Ed Prewitt Brazilian Rosewood and Ebony

I've owned a couple of Ed's cues and a fan. That's a great looking design and choice of materials and the cue turned out great.

Is using an Aramith "Measels" ball, cheating??

The measle cue ball is my favorite cue ball to play with. I have a home table and that's the ball I use on it. I play in a local 9 ball league and we play on Valley bar boxes (I'm not a fan of these but that's what we have to play the league on) and the tables have the Aramith bar box cue balls...

    Shane wins Rumrunner again

I've been around pool and watched the pros for many years and in my opinion Shane is the best player that i've ever seen. He's fearless and will take on the best around for the cash.

This is terrible news for someone so young to pass away. I didn't know Kevin other than reading his posts here on the forum and we exchanged PM's a couple of times.

How can I make my table play faster

My table was slow until I replaced the rail rubber and it came to life. If you have Simonis 860 and it's clean then it has to be the rail rubber that's not letting the balls react quickly off the rails! It worked for me so try some fresh rail rubber and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

2014 US Open 9-Ball Championship: 128-player field, $1,000 entry fee

I like your idea and I hope Barry reads this. I doubt he will have a full field if the entry fee stays at $1000 because at that rate he's going to eliminate the weaker players. I like your proposed payout and entry fee much better........

Any tips on going from ld to conventional shaft?

This is great advice and the closer you can stay to the center of the cue ball the less deflection you'll have to deal with. Try to learn to stun the cue ball more hitting close to the center of the cue ball with your angles using the speed of your stroke to move the cue ball instead of a lot of...

Cues that should no longer be played with

I agree with you. I don't want to own a cue that I can't take out and play with. The only worry I have is some low life walking off with my cue if I have to use the restroom, but I usually ask someone to watch my cue if that happens. I've really been paranoid about thieves since my GMC pickup...
