Basic, Novice, production cue questions (esp finish)

Every OB shaft I have encountered felt like bare wood. I do not care for it. I know my repair guy seals shafts when he does a top change. It is likely Bill did something to the shaft when he put the precision tip on. Bottom line, I expect a new OB shaft will have a 3rd feel for you to deal...

Blue Circle cue balls and faith in Mankind

Thanks for that link. I probably live less than 5 miles from the site of that company. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    SVB cue/shaft

Cuetec doesn't make their R360 shafts in any other joints, even though I bet people would try them. I hope you are right about making to them for other joints. Demand is obviously there for CF shafts. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

When is the Pro One/CTE book coming out?

Thanks. I was at work and didn't have time to confirm. His posts helped explain in language I understood. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

When is the Pro One/CTE book coming out?

I also am interested in getting this book. I also have watched the DVDs a few times, but have not watched too many YouTube videos. To convince me to adopt CTE, I do give a lot of credit to this blog, http://www.billiardsthegame.com/. The author was/is active on this forum, mohret maybe...

    new Jacoby Edge Pro shaft

I will expand on my review when I have had some more time. My friend picked up one at the expo for me. I received it last night. My first impressions are that Jacoby hit it out of the park. The finish is very smooth through my closed bridge, better than my original hybrid. The CB went where I...

    Jacoby vs pechauer jump cue

You already have one of the best jump cues with the stinger. I bought my friend's stinger and he begged me to take it back for jumping. That stinger was the full set with a playing shaft and the jump handle. You should ask McDermott if they sell the jump handle. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

How do you grip your cue?

One thing that I have done which has helped me finally grip loosely was to add a tennis wrap to my grip. I think the thickness helps but the stickiness of the grip is the key. I'm finding improvement when shooting carries over to my other cues. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Ferrules

I spoke to the guy at the expo a couple of years ago. He had me hold one of those ferrules in one hand and a regular ferrule in the other. It was surprising how much lighter his ferrules are. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Mezz cues are fantastic

I love it. I have considered trying the HP2 in radial but afraid it won't feel like the ex pro. I hear the HP2 is really stiff. Any future Mezz cue purchase will surely be upgraded to the ex pro. There is a reason the ex pro is the Exceed standard shaft. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Mezz cues are fantastic

The United Joint is basically a 5/16-14 but is an improvement. I bought an EC7 dark stained curly maple with the Ex Pro shaft upgrade. I always really wanted to use the Ex Pro on my Schon's and possibly on a custom Leon Sly I have. I say "improvement" because you can really feel the last few...

Gripping the cue to tight on impact

One thing I have done which seems to really loosen my grip is to add a tennis grip to my cue. I think I benefit from both the added thickness and the tackiness. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Michael Li cue

I used an aftermarket shaft on the radial ebony cue. They both hit great. The shafts weighed about 3.5 ounces, good solid maple. If you can find a nice one at a good price, that has been in your area for a while, go for it. I think the audience for this site are more custom cue users. Plus...

    Michael Li cue

I bought 2 of them, presumably directly or through his dealer. They were both SW knock off designs. One was ebony nose with purpleheart (or stained that way) and a single veneer. It also was a very rare radial pinned Li. Absolutely great with the best leather wrap. The seam could not be found...

WILLIARD CUE TIP MACHINE can't find

I have a friend with one that includes every attachment and collet but it is very heavy. I would imagine that shipping would be too much. He is trying to sell locally. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Mezz United joint to radial

I would like to change my ex pro shaft from united to radial. Is this a straight forward change or not worth the effort? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Adhesive magnets for chalk

I have the Kamui magnetic chalk holder. The cube goes in a rubber holder. When the chalk gets lower, I fold a piece of paper and put it in the bottom between the magnet and the chalk so it sits where it would new. You can use a piece of chalk pretty far down.
