Turning Stone Classic XXXVII Aug31- Sept. 4th

They don't release it to discourage calcuttas. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

Samsara Break Tip layer chipped off

I've had it happen and seen it happen before in other posts. I think you handled it fine. I like them too much to cut it off. Just consider it the cost of ownership. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Pool returns to ESPN….

Excellent. After seeing FlingGolf, air hockey and belt sander races this weekend on ESPN, I was feeling sad that pool doesn't get coverage. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

Question. There's one team in my local 8 ball league that uses the Black TV ball set.

At least you have nice ones in your league. When I played in bars you would think they played bocce in the parking lot with the set we used. I don't hate the measle cue ball but I could see sighting problems with the stripes being black. Hard to see edges of those balls depending on where the...

    OB cues shut down?

My understanding: originally OB wood shafts were made with six parts that were each laminated. When all were put together in finished form, you would see many lines, some were laminations, some from the six sections. The "+" version used 6 solid maple pieces instead of laminated. You would only...

Cue Tips, Non Layered Vs Layered

I can make the same comment about the tip that is on my Black Boar ferruleless shaft. I think it is a triangle tip but it has some kind of magical goodness. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

3/8-14 wood shaft - Low Deflection

I bet he paid more than Jacoby would have charged. Being nickel and dimed, rather than starting at a base where many options are included, is not a customer friendly way to sell. It is why Honda and Toyota became the top seller in the US car market, over the US companies where you needed to...

Aramith 100 new ball set out tomorrow

It is funny. My first thought was "those solids look like they are from a cheap set." Not for me. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

    Helmstetter tip question

Since this likely predates layered tips, a Lepro or Triangle were likely the original tip. Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

butt diameter sweet spot, and for loose grip- ?

I will be curious to hear from others but I have found thicker butts to feel better and more natural in my hand. Hopefully it also contributes to a properly loose grip. I think a grippier wrap might be a bigger factor than butt dimension. If you don't worry about slipping, then your brain will...

3/8-14 wood shaft - Low Deflection

I know I don't like feeling "sold to" so I understand. Is your BD shaft pie spliced or solid? If spliced, does it feel stiff? Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk

I second this. Mezz does linen very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

thinking of having a cue built like this, sample pictures request?

I don’t have too much insight but the cue makers who I have seen make cues in this style are Rick Howard, Mike Stacey (sp?) and Dan Dishaw, though Dishaw uses Radial as his standard pin. I don’t mean to leave out other makers, nor have I hit with one of these guys cues. I’m a Barnhart fan...

Can I tell if my newly purchased predator shaft came with a medium tip?

I know the cow is out of the barn here, but if I was getting a tip change, i would choose a tip that is visibly different than the stock tip. A zan, tiger, any black or tan tip. It might not be what you really asked for still but you know they did something. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Kielwood Shaft

I had a custom cue that came with a 4.5oz shaft. It felt so strange. You can have too much. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Kielwood Shaft

I was chatting with the guy at the OB booth. I asked if 30” would be heavier. He said that a 30” shaft adds more towards the tip. Those inches are the lightest parts of a shaft. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

3/8-14 wood shaft - Low Deflection

A friend of mine got Jacoby to make a kielwood shaft for his Cuetec. You might want to try them. I’m not sure if I have ever seen that joint choice on an aftermarket shaft from the major websites. Custom from someone might be your best option. Jacoby wood shafts are very nice too. Sent...

    Kielwood Shaft

You might not be happy with kielwood. The process to create them is by cooking the water out of the wood. This makes them lighter than before. I heard Hsunami shafts come in closer to 4 ounces. My OB Phoenix shaft is 3.44oz. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    RIP Danny Basavich

Very sad news. I’m glad I got to see him at Turning Stone once. Even played some poker together. RIP Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Entertaining cue listings

Every time I see this cue I wonder how rough a life it’s had. Seen too much. https://www.ebay.com/itm/155212697376?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&customid=link&campid=5335988529&toolid=20001&mkevt=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
