Samsara Break Tip layer chipped off

I had a split pea sized piece chip off my samsara Break Tip. Didn't take pictures, just reshaped and continued playing. Happened straight along on layer.

Anybody else had this? Did I just get a bad batch? Is this a "regular" issue with layered tips? Happened when I chalked 🙂

Had the tip on for almost a year, am very happy with it. Would always prefer hard leather over phenolic. Are there other non-layered recommendations for hard leather?
 
I've had it happen and seen it happen before in other posts. I think you handled it fine.

I like them too much to cut it off. Just consider it the cost of ownership.

With these layered tip i would expect to hear this more often. If their is still enough meat left i would reshape the tip. Other then that i would replace it.
 
The Samsara break tip and the BK Rush break tip - same tip - had a defective run and there were a lot of these separations. I had it happen on my BK Rush, replaced it with the Samsara, and had it happen again. Found out they were from the same run. These are hybrid tips - resin impregnated leather - not phenolic. I switched to the White Diamond and that's been working well for me. YMMV
