    Want Medalist ball return

I used stock pockets. I had to route a relief in the skirts for the side pockets. A design flaw? Shouldn't be a problem if you have a ball return.

WTF? my thread deleted but this "Sticky" ^^^ is ok?

This thread could have been avoided with a thorough search before asking questions. The forum already provides the basics for someone with reasonable skills to set up, level, recushion, and recover their table. Even major repairs and restorations are pretty well documented. What more does a...

    Want Medalist ball return

I want to install a ball return in my OS8 Medalist. Can a 9 (or 8) foot be adjusted to fit? Does it have to be from a Medalist?

    Alternative to Slate

I agree with Dartman. I have a table in its own room but guess what ... 95% of my pool is played on the same bar box against the usual suspects. Go figure!

    Wetting Cloth

Due to my lack of experience, after 9 months the cloth (860) lost its tightness around the cushion facings. It didn't affect play or even noticed by anyone but me. It wasn't bad enough to take the rails off and pull the cloth tighter. I got a wild hair and dampened the cloth around the facings...

What would make a ball hang in the pocket?

I'm not a mechanic but measure the angles of the cushions into the pocket at the corners and post back.

Placing the spot on a table

I'm not a professional mechanic but I hang two weighted threads over the respective diamonds then use a combination square to find the vertical point on the cloth beneath the intersection of the threads to place the spot. For 14.1, I place the head ball while in the rack underneath the...

Now interviewing Table Mechanics in the NJ area for pool room work!!!

Off Topic ... I checked the Sandcastle website and was glad to see some younguns playing. All the pool halls here you must be 21 to enter because of smoking. It saddened me one day to see a father and son trying to find a place to shoot pool and no one could help.
