That pic is up close to the point of the cue. If they were veneers, you would be able to see a slight glue line that seperates the two veneers on each side of the point. The picture you took is so close, and so well focused, that it is obvious that the glue line isn't there, and that the cue is...

I thought you were asking how we could tell the cue had recuts. What I was saying was that the pic posted is the pic that I saw and immediately thought "oh, that's a recut".

Well this thread got me thinking too - I've always loved wood working, just been too busy with making computer software to really do much of it. I also had a decent amount of coffee and got a wild hair up my a** to build a cue tonight. After work I drove straight to Lowes for "supplies". So...
