Advice on how to stay down on the shot more consistently?

Big problem for me (I am guessing for many of us). Reoccurring problem for years. I might have a good night (or a good game) and successful stay down but this issue always rears its ugly head for me again. What has worked for people to remedy this?

Cloned playing cue vs cue designed for breaking

I think the motivation for this thread came from this week when I was practicing 8 ball and broke a rack softly with my playing cue and the balls spread surprisingly well. You don't really think about this until something like that happens...you know, rack after rack breaking with my break cue...

Cloned playing cue vs cue designed for breaking

This is not a question of finance nor quality. My playing cue is just as expensive as my bk rush.

Cloned playing cue vs cue designed for breaking

Yes sometimes I believe an exact duplicate of my playing cue with a hard tip would break better than a cue a designed for breaking. The familiarity and accuracy you gain with using your playing cue duplicate might override any benefit that the cue design for breaking provides.

Cloned playing cue vs cue designed for breaking

What, besides the tip, makes it break harder?

Cloned playing cue vs cue designed for breaking

Besides the tip, is there anything on a cue designed for breaking that actually increases the hit speed?

Cloned playing cue vs cue designed for breaking

Wondering people thoughts on cloning (buying a duplicate shaft and butt that weighs pretty much the same) their playing cue and using it to break as oppose to using a cue designed for breaking (thicker diameter, harder tip, etc.).

Why do pros rarely use the dart stroke for jump shots?

Sidearm jump stroke is difficult for me. The only way I have somewhat been able to do it is by drastically closing my stance with my left foot ahead of my right foot (I am right handed). I don't think this is the correct way to go about it though as I have no accuracy and my body alignment is...

Why do pros rarely use the dart stroke for jump shots?

Why then, do amateurs not use the sidearm stroke for the jump?

Why do pros rarely use the dart stroke for jump shots?

Nothing for me for my jump shot has really ever changed. I get clearance and landing better with a dart stroke. I aim better with an underhand stroke. But the pros seem to be able to do both now with that sidearm stroke.

Why do pros rarely use the dart stroke for jump shots?

I've always wondered why this is.

Are finger grooves in jump cues marketing gimmicks?

Finger grooves in jump cues puzzle me. I mean, who has there shooting hand at the same position for every shot for the dart stroke? Just wondering if others have had this thought as well.

For a conventional underhand jump shot, heels up or down?

Do people lift their back leg heel off of the ground? Do they lift both heels off of the ground? Or do they keep both flat? Just curios what is conventional wisdom or what most people do and if it varies depending on the jump shot.

Mezz Air Drive 3 released today!

I also suspect some of these companies hold off implementing changes in their latest releases so that they can do them in subsequent releases. For instance, Predator most likely didn't come out with a carbon fiber butt for the Air Rush so that they can have a new feature for the Air Rush 2...

Mezz Air Drive 3 released today!

I guess that is where Predator will go next with their jump cue, carbon fiber butt. After that I wouldn't be surprised to see someone come out with a four piece jump cue. Increasing 6 inches with every piece. 2 piece would be 40. 3 would be 46. 4 would be 52. Would there really be a use for...

Mezz Air Drive 3 released today!

It is interesting though the changes the manufacturers will roll out to get new purchases. I guess the next thing will be carbon fiber butts? Will there a point in time where no more discernible improvements or changes can be made (can't go any more low deflection, any more carbon fiber, a...

In bar table eight ball, do you deliberately miss shots?

I'm really starting to think I'm on the spectrum.

In bar table eight ball, do you deliberately miss shots?

I am wondering if intentionally missing shots is a common used tactic by players in 8 ball, particularly on bar tables? (Perhaps waiting on an opponent to shoot off some of their balls).

Frustrated with my own slow play in 8 ball

The tip on keeping my head in the game while my opponent is shooting I will try to apply as I really don't do this right now. I for the most part, zone out. I think this may be do to the nature of games on a 7 ft table where one shot by an opponent can rearrange everything so much I guess I...
