    Shortening newly installed layered tips

Per Dr. Dave, in terms of deflection, tip height doesn't seem to matter much... https://billiards.colostate.edu/bd_articles/2014/june14.pdf

Should I get a six inch tip put on my cue? 😉😉😉😉

    Shortening newly installed layered tips

It's interesting to me how different tips are made at different heights. Like I just got the Becue Core tip, and its a very tall tip (I think it has 12 layers). Is it factor for people when deciding what tip (it's height) that they want? In other words, do people say to themselves, I don't...

    Shortening newly installed layered tips

I have noticed that some people like to have some of the height taken off new layered tips when installed. I was curious as to what is the reasoning behind this?

    Heavy cue ball stiill around?

Think I'm going to buy one of those mini digital jewelry scales to keep in my pocket or bag to know for sure from now on...lol.

    Heavy cue ball stiill around?

So the cue balls appeared to be a red circle cue ball made by Aramith. And I researched this a bit and that is a pretty standard cue ball with a standard 5.9 to 6.0 oz weight. So now I am thinking perhaps I was imaging the whole thing and the cue balls weren't really heavier. But then, in...

    Heavy cue ball stiill around?

Do people still find themselves playing in leagues or tournaments with heavy cue balls??? I thought this was a thing of the past, but I don't get out much and mostly play at pool halls. (I just played in a tournament where all the tables used heavy cueballs and it was not pretty on how I played).

Dominant eye is the weaker eye in terms of far sighted vision.

    Hmmm...not sure I understand.

Dominant eye is the weaker eye in terms of far sighted vision.

I am left eye dominant but my left eye is weaker than my right eye in terms of vision. Can this an issue for people in playing pool?

    Different lengths for predator shafts?

I have two predator revo shafts (bought at different points of time) and I've noticed they are different lengths. Not greatly different but at least an 1/8th of an inch different (I don't have a ruler on me). Does anyone know if Predator has at different points in time produced longer or...

    Dime Radius or Nickel Radius?

Like smoochie, I find I miscue more on draw shots with a nickel radius (on my 12.4 Revo). That is pretty much my deciding factor on why I prefer a dime radius.

Speaking of jump cues, the big boy comes out Tuesday

I am surprised no one has come out with a 4 piece jump cue yet. 40 inches at 2 pieces and then two more 5 inch handles (so could go 40, 45, & 50). I guess that's my prediction for the future. A 4 piece all cf jump cue.

Speaking of jump cues, the big boy comes out Tuesday

The three piece config at 51.5 inches is definitely the longest jump cue configuration I have seen. Seems they are really trying to develop a jump cue that not only gets over obstacles but also makes balls on a 9 ft table. I am not sure how much use this will be for those who play mostly on...

Speaking of jump cues, the big boy comes out Tuesday

Yes, they are both 13.9 (Seyberts will sometimes incorrectly display the predator jump cues at 12.75).

Speaking of jump cues, the big boy comes out Tuesday

Found the specs on the air rush: 2 piece: 40.25 inches / 8.1 ounces 3 piece: 51.5 inches / 12.1 ounces Shaft is carbon fiber but the handles are maple. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For comparison, the specs for the...

Instructor review - Martin Zavala Jr.

Got a lesson twist in Algonquin (NW burb of Chicago) from Martin. Great experience. My first ever official paid pool lesson after playing for years. Wish I had done it sooner.

Mezz Air Drive II vs Cuetec Propel

Thoughts? Both have carbon fiber shafts, but I am more interested in their large tip diameters and if people are finding this helpful and how the jump cues compare to each other.

BK Rush Plus Jump Break Cue

I did try to use the BK-Rush shaft with a Lucasi jump handle a couple of years ago and I found it very difficult to jump. I know the BK-Rush is advertised as low deflection. Doesn't a shaft being low deflection make it bad for jumping?
