    In Memory

If my memory is correct, in one of the videos ,I think Joe Tuckers, he placed the ball one ball below the center pocket. I went back and rewatched the video, he first spotted it 1 ball below the side, made it , placed it 2 balls below the side, hung it up, then made it the next shot . Then he...

    Intentional sharking or not?

Lots of people are shark proof for regular stakes, bet something that will leave a big mark, and get a bad roll or two and then see if you still play with a loosey goosey stroke , my guess is you will be able to hear a baby fart, 3 blocks away in downtown LA at 3 PM.

Diamonds clearly bank shorter than most other if not all tables…so, why?

Looks like George Washington and Ben Franklin locked in a lovers stare, probably not, but hey , it's not my dirty picture.

Your thoughts on '3 fouling' your way to victory?

To me, 3 fouling someone can be a double edged sword. Like trying to knock someone out. It's great when it comes, but if you chase it, there can be negative repercussions. Like getting out of stroke.

Stupid idea? Undoubtedly, but I might try it.

I would be concerned with seeing the hole. That would throw me off, I'm sure. But I have inner ear problems and visual stimuli work adversely on me. It may not bother you.

Stupid idea? Undoubtedly, but I might try it.

I believe they do it for two reasons. They can see the aim spot better without the cue in the way,, and it creates the maximum of whatever spin you are applying to the cue ball. jmo

    In Memory

I'm thinking most people take about 100 tries. I have only seen video of Bob Jewett and Joe Tucker making it. I think if you start missing it short , you are on to something!

Diamonds clearly bank shorter than most other if not all tables…so, why?

You master the speed. Diamonds are more accurate and predictable, than any other table I have played on, if you hit the shot with the correct speed, . Just beyond pocket speed is the correct starting point, for me. jmo The more forcefully you hit the shot than it needs to be, the shorter it plays.

    How to combat slow players?

If I am totally honest , if I played better when I played slowly, I would take as long as I needed on every shot, that is why most of us are playing the game. Nick Varner played slow, still does, but he plays extremely well at that pace, he may play a ball weaker playing fast, who knows. Another...

Are Top Level Pool Players Better Today?

I didn't read every post, so if it has already been said , sorry, . Back in the mid 1800s when pool became available to the common people, there became several groups of world class players, John Roberts was the head of the one in England, Michaeal Phelan was Irish but became American and was...

Interesting Article: Billiards Math is Hard

T They consider the first different move, to begin a completely unknown game. There are hundreds of thousands of end games where there are x amount of pieces on the board and they know that it is a forced win or draw, for one side or the other, but that is irrelevant as far as the statistics go.

Interesting Article: Billiards Math is Hard

Oddly enough, even after all of games that have been recorded move for move ,sometimes for over 150 moves in a game, even at the highest levels , most games deviate from known move orders after about 20 moves, this includes all games played on the internet in the last 30 years or more. Amazing...
