I'm sure to get flamed for this but I send everything to Scott at Proficient (yes, I choose them over the actual cue maker, I don't care who it is). It comes out perfect every time and for me that's everything!

Imo Having owned cues by all three makers that you have mentioned, Bob Frey's cues are supreme IMO. He made cues with Tim Scruggs for years and it shows in his finished product.

Good maker Richard has been making cues since 1973. I've owned several and they all played well and I never had a problem selling them when I was ready for something new. Play, construction, fit and finish are on par with Richard Black in my opinion.

I'm gonna get flamed for this but I think of them as production. Here's why I think this way. Predator is a known production cue company. Samsara is making their buts (thousands annually) and letting Predator slap their logo on. Just like Schon is a production cue (both use to be custom)...
