2 Girls, a Mustang, and the Road

I've noticed from the Gene Rhea thread and the Rhea oh it's on thread, that you seem to blame "friends" a lot, in fact that is what you do when something doesn't go your way.

Anyone else noticed that?

"I have always relied on the kindness of strangers."

Two points to the AZer who knows the movie and the character.

Just saw Rhea playing the 7/9 on my wed night team. I was impressed with her game. Good luck in Tyler, Albuquerque, and Reno

Going to Tyler Texas this weekend and then headed to Reno, might stop in Albuquerque on the way.

Keep the updates coming. Perhaps some of the pool buddies in here can offer you a place to stay to offset traveling expenses. That would be nice.?? I know motels can get expensive. Just a wild thought.

About gambling. I use to play all road players with the 5 and break. I beat about 55% of them. I NEVER wanted to lock anyone up but I wanted a fair game. After all I am an amature player. We played mostly bar tables but sometimes a player wanted a big table (4 /12 x 9 ). The gambling part didn't bother me at all, I never used a backer. For some reason it's hard for me to play on someone else's money. I don't mind losing my money but I tend to worry about others people money. Anyone could bet as much as I could stand at the time. Most the time we played about 50 a game, but times was different. Late 80's early 90's. I loved it. Most the time, the road players already had a line on me but that's ok. Oh yea, sometime other players wanted 1/2 the action. Now that didn't bother me.

I have already determined that Jerry is the only guy at Skinny Bob's that I can play even with, I will need spot from anyone else who is willing to play for $20 or higher. If the game is made right, I will play any woman in Texas while I am here.

I did not play Frank last night for a good reason, I don't care that I was being staked by a total stranger, but this was a trap. They were laying down on the stream. Frank is one of only three Grand Master players at Skinny Bob's. He is four to five balls better than I am, and I will not dump any backer. I have no shot at playing even.

I love to read about your road trip. Listen to this tip and listen carefully. ANYONE CAN PLAY ANYONE else if they match up right. Do not be ashamed of asking for a huge spot. Like I stated earlier, I use to play all road players with the 5 and break on a bar box of their choice, or a big box, didn't matter. Now I love to gamble so we usually bet high. This is just a tip.

I once played a guy for a 100 game and all he had to do was make the 9 ball hit the rail I broke from (back rail). He gave me the break. It took some time, but 1100 dollars later I was happy. Took about 12 hours though. That's just an example of giving a spot. I knew that player, his name is Ray Charles. J/K! I think you get the point. ?? Keep posting. I love Tyler TX. Not flat!

Played him a race to six getting one on the wire for twenty. First set went hill hill, we backed it and jacked it to fourty, went hill hill again jacked it to sixty, beat him six to three.

Today I subbed for league to get my first match under my belt so that I qualify for state. My first rack I broke and ran at skinny bobs.

Where's my patch?

No action last night but I tried to drum some up. Leaving in a few hours, may stop in Albuquerque for about an hour, then going to phoenix to stay overnight, leaving the next morning to head to reno, might stop in las Vegas on our way.

One thing is for sure Rhea, most of us here really enjoy reading about your pool escapades. Have fun, enjoy and have a happy Valentines Day!

Wow, I must be overtired, we aren't leaving to go to reno until Thursday morning. We are leaving in a few hours to go to Tyler for the Brass Star tournament, and coming back to Austin on Sunday night.

Keep teh stories coming. When are you going to head east for some action? You should make it for the SBE.

I won't be at the SBE this year because we are playing in the OB cues tour that is happening at the same time

You're going to equate pool with the gaff game of have the 9 ball hit the end rail?
That's not pool, nor is it gambling, it's stealing

Kim didn't get. Much sleep last night, so we are not going to Tyler, instead we will bee leaving for Reno on Thursday. Happy Valentines day. We will be at Skinny Bobs until Wednesday night.

I'm not feeling myself today, never thought I'd say this but I think I need a break from playing, depression is kicking in hard and its effecting my game, lost twenty five to the first person I played today, bad way to start. I will tr and find a way to cheer up.
