Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I believe in size and strength. At 6-3 and north of 270 I can generate a lot for a break shot. My cueball barely ever leaves the table. Now if someone wants to try or think they can reduce the randomness of a break shot, with a cue, and a +/- strength of stroke and they feel they have some level...

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

If I am traveling light, Fellini 1x2, I am absolutely ok with a house cue for breaking. I understand the need for a break / jump, but I feel the importance and accuracy of a break cue is widely overstated. JV

    Guys who never sell cues

If you list a cue online, know you are going to get people that think they know, when they don't, commenting. For the life of me, price knocking and making market comments are different, but why bother? A listing for a Schon and someone will say I saw the same cue for 300 less. The other guy...

How do you tell if a cue has real Ivory in it?

Blacklight is a good way.... Ivory will light up under blacklight. As you can see with the butt cap and one ferrule since they are not ivory, they show grey. JV

    Arrested for Ivory sale

The Feds tell you to check with your state laws in regards to OWNING and SELLING ivory products, items that existed prior to the ban ONLY. Every other regulation about usage, import and export is FEDERAL. Again, I have confirmation of this when I went through them for a de minimus letter format...

    Arrested for Ivory sale

Cali Bust 1 Cali Bust 2 This is what happens in a lockdown state when you sell ivory within the state. I just wrote appraisals for over 20 cues in a collection that is in California. Technically they have no market within the state, but I put on approx retail values if they were anywhere but...

    Shipping Charges

I have never had a problem with UPS. USPS constantly reroutes, and screws up the destination. To be honest, the issue with USPS is the distribution centers 98% of the time. As far as relative costs, 4x4 boxes are cheaper than the triangles or round tubes. Use pirate ship for UPS mailings, always...

    Arrested for Ivory sale

I had a page typed out.. but it doesn't matter. People in pool will distort and reword or change word definition to convince themselves they are in the right. You cannot fix stupid, this is a fact. There is so much incorrect information in this thread it is beyond comprehension. To simplify the...

    Ivory in cues and Japan.

A CITES pre-Convention certificate can be issued for specimens that were taken from the wild before the species was listed under CITES in order to authorize export or re-export, provided certain criteria are met. For the African elephant, the pre-Convention date is February 26, 1976. For the...

    Ivory in cues and Japan.

WOW.. all I can say... The FEDERAL law prohibits all sale, or purchase, of ivory internationally. If they inspect your box and it has a cue in it, they can test for ivory. They are allowed to use any method they deem necessary to test the ivory. Black light, hot poke, doesn't matter. The other...
