    Death of a Table Mechanic

As a side note, you might have noticed that John was also Irish. The historical significance of Irishmen in the world of pool, and many other sports, cannot be overstated.

    Death of a Table Mechanic

In the last paragraph you'll see a reference to the "wareroom at 860 Broadway", the former location of Phelan and Collender's billiard table store where John worked. At the time, this wareroom was located in the most luxurious retail shopping district in the entire country. Coincidentally...

    Death of a Table Mechanic

You can read all kinds of stories about the lives of pool and billiard players. You can even read stories about companies and producers of billiard related items like tables and cues. But what you never see (until now) is a story about the man behind the scenes, who physically installed and...

    Keeping your chalk moist

If there is air movement (a breeze) on the chalk, that will dry it fairly quick. But otherwise I am surprised that chalk would dry out in a basement. I prefer a cigar humidor with a piece of bread in it for humidity control. Flawless if you wanna keep stuff moist.

New Brunswick GC6 - Any Questions?

To save time and effort, one could simply take apart an existing table model, and use it's parts as a jumping-off point for a new redesign. Keep what works and tweek the rest. No sense in reinventing the wheel.

New Brunswick GC6 - Any Questions?

I won't go into great detail because it's not what this thread is about, but I've known two different people who make good quality custom tables in my area and neither invested anywhere near a million to do it. And believe it or not, one of them was a female. Granted, youd never be able to...

New Brunswick GC6 - Any Questions?

Mark, my suggestion would be to build your own brand of tables. I dam sure would if I could. Your work speaks for itself, so why not design and build your own? I'd rather get one from you than from any commercial producer.

New Brunswick GC6 - Any Questions?

Thing is, Championship doesn't produce any cushions themselves, so it could be possible that Brunswick buys their cushions via Championship. But for them to go thru a third party to get cushions wouldn't make sense. Perhaps, the same company that produces super speed cushions also produces...

New Brunswick GC6 - Any Questions?

The way you worded it, you seem to be saying that the company who makes Brunswick's cushions, is the same company that owns Championship. Or did you mean that Championship produces the superspeeds?

I have an interview scheduled with Brunswick representatives to discuss the details of the new Gold Crown 6 table, which is based on a design created by Colin Tury, winner of the re-design contest. Submit any questions you might have about the new table and we'll include some of them in the...
