    New Gold Crown VI

Don't know if you recall the occasion but Brunswick held a design contest for the new GC6 back in 2014. We interviewed the winner of the contest, Colin Tury. Unless Brunswick backed off of their previous plan of using the winning design, then it wasn't even Brunswick that designed it, it was...

    Brunswick Hub Cue

His patent attorney was Fred Gerlach Fred Gerlach, 87, a Chicago patent attorney for 50 years, died last night in Passavant hospital. He lived at 2150 Lincoln Park West, and maintained an office at 105 W. Adams st. Back in the 1890s Mr. Gerlach was president of the American Wheelmen, an...

You're right doc. I'd bet there is more info out there somewhere. And you're also right that 99% of the time it's never where you'd expect it to be. Sometimes it's just a single word or sentence. I'm going to shoot an email to Rambow's grandson. I know they don't have much of his stuff but I'm...

    New Gold Crown VI

We interviewed the kid who won the design contest. It's for real. Brunswick told us in 2015 that it ( GC VI) would be released in 2017. Whether that is a real GC VI, I don't know

You're on it doc. And dammit now it makes me wonder if I should look thru more Albert Pick info to see if Herman tried to get his hub cue produced at their factory while he was there... Edit: It also re-occurred to me, now that I think about it, the relevance of who the men were, that Herman...

    Brunswick Hub Cue

Random thought: It's entirely possible that the Hub Cue was THE very reason Rambow left Brunswick. For example, what if Herman invented a new balancing system for custom cues, but Brunswick thought it was a terrible idea. Next thing you know he says "screw it" (pun intended) and decides to go...

    Brunswick Hub Cue

In 1921 Rambow left Brunswick and started his own company, with two of his former co-workers, at least one of which was a prolific inventor. (Axel F Hjort) Some have speculated that he left because he was not being given appropriate credit for his innovations and hard work. " This became very...

Table id and advice on this awesome table!

The table is indeed "The Jefferson" model and is easily 100+ years old. Yes, the rails will need to be rebuilt to play "properly" but it can be done. In fact Jeremy Chambers can fabricate a whole new set of rails for you that will play as good as modern rails. Here is the Brunswick catalog...

    COA for a possible Rambow

Depending on what your plans are, and the cue, you might not need one. For example, if it's clearly a legit cue ( no major concerns) and you are looking to sell it to a knowledgeable buyer, its unlikely that a COA will make any difference.

speaking of spring... Two boll weevils grew up on a cotton farm together. But then, on a sunny spring day, one of the weevils left the farm and moved to NYC. This weevil that left the farm, became known as a Wall Street genius and made millions. The weevil who stayed home, became known as...

    Teflon cloth

I have found it to play slightly faster and much more slippery. Did not enjoy it really. Besides that, I despise Dupont and everything they stand for. Teflon (pfoa) is so nasty that just about every human alive has it in their bloodstream as we speak.
