Help needed I want to refinish an old Dufferin one piece

Actually, ... no. slight or not, the cue is warped. Almost certainly in the shaft. You MAY be able to sand it down enough that it is straight for a time. But it will warp again. I promise. Dalle

Thank you for finally demonstrating that you are a troll of the first order. FWIW - if you knew anything about pool at all you would understand neither of those players you mention are within a mile of Mosconi's speed at 14.1 Dale

    Your thoughts on 8-ball tactics

Try to wrap your head around this: every turn at the table you should try to increase the probability you will win. Sometimes that means firing a ball in and running out, sometimes it means bunting the cue ball to a safe spot,.. and everything in between. Dale(more a bunter than a runner)

    Your thoughts on 8-ball tactics

Uhhjhhhhh... no. It is more complicated than just never run 7... The valid underlying principle is similar to one pocket. You don't try to win the game every turn at the table. You try to increase the probability you will eventually win and your opponent will lose. So after sizing up what you...

Dan Gartner...Stories, how good was he?

Thanx for the memories. For all you young whippersnappers out there who probably don 'know, being New Jersey state champion in those days meant you were likely the 12th best Straight Pool player in the world:). As I recall, his nickname in his early days was 'Young Greenleaf'. Pretty high...

How do you Aim Off to compensate for sidespin

Before - absolutely. It took lots of play and practice, but I am at the point where I know what 'point' I need to hit on the OB to knock it into the pocket. That point is determined before I ever get into my stance. My own personal Words-To-Live-By: 1. NEVER adjust while down in your stance...

    Inch and 3/8 through bore

Are you considering buying the late or just using it? I assume you are asking about putting the joint end thru the headstock. If so, 6 inches out from the chuck should not be a problem for working on the butt. If all else fails, you could use a steadyrest. BTW - what is the...
