    Ultimate Pool USA Boston Shootout

Lost in the quarterfinals on an unlucky scratch... Couple observations: 1. Our guy E is definitely not out of his league with these guys. 2. EVERYONE in commentary had nothing but great things to say about Eric, which speaks volumes about his character as a man. 3. This is a fun format to...

    Pechauer Cues

Maybe a location thing? Here in middle Tennessee, few people have them...but plenty from meucci, cue-tec, and viking.

    Pechauer Cues

I have a few. I settled on Pechs' several years ago after trying examples from most of the current popular companies. 1. The hit feels good to me...not sure if they "hit like a monster", but I like 'em. 2. I like that they are a small town American company that machines their own parts, and...

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

i agree, I should have mentioned I was specifically referring to the long format marathons SVB is so well known for...

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

Good post. Fedor really left no doubt. Where we disagree is in regards to making excuses. When a top tier player loses by this margin, in my way of thinking there has to be extenuating factors. As you said, nobody believes Fedor is 42 games better than SVB...the King of the long race. So, in...

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

I'm sure @Fatboy or some of the other members who know him would have a much better read on things, but as I commented earlier, I saw a windows open interview on FB where SVB made the statement that he wasn't hungry anymore, and that he didn't NEED to play everybody and win all the cash...

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

Fedor posted on his FB that it was likely the last time they played. I don't know how quickly SVB wants to grab that tiger by the tail again. 40+ racks...I would imagine that is pretty embarassing for a legend like Shane... But then again, maybe it just pisses him off and motivates him...

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

I saw a Facebook interview recently where SvB was asked about matching up with filler in 1 pkt...he basically said he would require filler first play him a set of 10 ball. He went on to make the point that the young guys are hungry, and he hasn't been hungry in a while. He also said he would...

    (sort of) Pool Movie

Watched this this weekend, along with another movie I had never heard of, "Break" I think it was called. I thought Dirty Down South was watchable. I like Kim Coates, but he was not very good in this one. The Break movie was terrible...about the same level as "nine ball" movie...

Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

Well here is some free advice from a self confessed "banger". Some background: Not a runout player. No fargo. Captained an APA team for 7 years with a pretty good win percentage. HAve a 7 ft. diamond at home. Took a couple lessons from the late great Scott Lee, have played shortstop level...

Tiger? Caitlyn? That is some high praise! Here's to hoping she lives up to her potential! I remember years ago older guys at the pool hall talking about "some little kid in South Dakota who is playing and robbing everyone"...THAT is some Tiger type stuff right there! (y)

Just saw a FB post from Sofia where she left Predator and picked up a Pechauer sponsorship. Good for her. She must be doing something right to have multiple companies looking to sponsor her.

    Pro Pool Payroll in Perspective

I recently saw where newly enlisted privates in the U.S. Army (E-1) make approximately $24,206.40 per year in basic pay. Firemen, teachers, cops, emt's about the same. These professionals certainly don't do it for the money. I reckon the same can be said for pool pro's.

Um, Heck no! I would rather play bar box 8 ball on a valley with half the cloth missing, while shooting with a broomstick, while listening to elevator music, than have to play a long set of nine ball.
