    Best jump cue weight

the ultra lights are good for doing trick shot type jumps or super close ones, which i would not attempt in a game situation. but its hard to control the cue ball. for real match play, i think 9oz is the ideal weight. light enough to jump well, but heavy enough for some control.

    Elkmaster Vs Pressed Elkmaster

the blue diamond and elkmaster are virtually identical to me....these are the 2 most common tips for snooker. some say they can tell a difference, but i can't i've been pressing elks and bd's for awhile now and it just basically eliminates the break in time for the tip. though with these tips...

The only way I will ever play 9 ball again...

umm...well yes they really should if it's "luck" aka a random event. perhaps if some people are "lucky" consistently over time, perhaps you should think it's not really luck, but something else....perhaps skill

    Shape of a snooker tip

i think it's because the tip is so small....take a 9.5mm tip and shape the radius to a nickel or dime and you can't really tell much difference. with the bigger pool cue tips, the curvature is more noticeable. i shape my pool tips using a shaper with a radius gauge. with my snooker tips, i...

    Lucasi Hybrid Shaft O F

changing the ferrule to ivory will kill the low deflection performance. at that point i think it will deflect like a regular shaft. i'm not that experienced with ivory, but usually ivory ferrules are capped for strength. not sure if doing a thru ferrule with ivory will hold up or not.... i...

    Lucasi Hybrid Shaft O F

the 1st gen preds seemed very whippy to me....the 2nd gens are stiffer and hybrid is more similar to that i felt in terms of stiffness. i guess due to the hollow design, i never found anything that hit quite like a predator. you're right though, there's some manufacturing variance as well as...

    Lucasi Hybrid Shaft O F

i wouldn't compare the hit of the hybrid to the predator at all, 1st or 2nd gen. predator has the hollow section which totally changes things. hybrid feels pretty close to a regular maple shaft, being totally solid in construction. to me, it is stiffer and hits harder than the preds...

    Lucasi Hybrid Shaft O F

the lucasi shaft is totally different than predator's design. the predator has a hollow bore in the tip end of the shaft with a short 6/10" sleeved, capped ferrule made with some lightweight material called maxlite (formerly titan). the lucasi design has no hollow sections, the secret is in...

If you like Triangle tips -- Some information and a mystery

i haven't noticed any difference in the smaller sizes, only the 15mm seems to be better if anyone gets the 15mm's from cuebux, can they confirm they really do have the right size? if they do, it would be great to have another supplier besides atlas.

If you like Triangle tips -- Some information and a mystery

if you make a bigger tip, the tip has to be thicker otherwise you end up with a very thin tip. apparently this is what makes the 15mm tips better, they have to use a thicker part of the hide, and this is seemingly a better quality leather. i've not tried the sinker/floater thing, but i know...

If you like Triangle tips -- Some information and a mystery

i have been using the 15mms for quite awhile now. i had heard somewhere that several top cuemakers who are known for using triangles use the 15mm version as they are much better and I decided to try for myself and discovered that it is indeed true. also for the lepro, the 15mm version of that...

Cue Extensions which slip over your Cue

oh, one other cool thing about the longoni, is that they made the diameter the same as a typical pool cue butt, so it feels natural when shooting with it.

Cue Extensions which slip over your Cue

i have the longoni one and it works really well. people have said it can scratch your cue, but i've never scratched one and i don't see how you would unless you are really rough with it. i like these over the push on types, because the push ons are a fixed diameter and pool cue butts can vary...
