    no call shot 10 ball.

This brings about a whole new level of ridiculousness. I don't want to have to discuss rules in the beginning of a match. When I watch the Yankees and the Red Sox play, I don't see Francona and Girardi have a 2 hour meeting at the mound to discuss which version of the rules they are going to...

    no call shot 10 ball.

Do we know why they played by those rules?

    no call shot 10 ball.

Yeah that's what we're talking about... There are no stipulations for shooting safeties in the 10ball rules...except that a ball cannot be pocketed. Nobody is making up rules unless you are playing a game in which safeties MUST be called. That would be a made-up rule...we were discussing...

    whats the difference ?

I assume we're talking about 8ball. APA 9ball is a totally different animal. I'm not quite sure I understand the question. In BCA, the entire match is handicapped based on each individual player's rating: the stronger team must score more points than the weaker team. Subtract the sum of each...

    whats the difference ?

Besides the rules? In APA, the sets are handicapped and each player only plays one opponent. In BCA, the games are not handicapped and each player plays every player in the opposing line-up.

I'm with you. I think they can and should coexist. But weren't the rules of 10ball created to minimize lucky rolls? If you want to play a game with lucky rolls, then you should play 9ball. If you want to play a game without lucky rolls then you should play ????? Hmm..no luck rotation doesn't...

    no call shot 10 ball.

But it says nothing about a missed ball and lucky safe...that's the situation I'm talking about.

    no call shot 10 ball.

Thanks for the clarification. Am I the only one who has a problem with this? With current rules, 10ball is worse than 9ball.

No called shots in 14.1??? You're kidding, right?
  11. Drew

    no call shot 10 ball.

From the rules: Unless I'm reading the rules wrong, it says nothing about slopped safeties. Maybe someone who has played in a WPA tournament can clarify.

    no call shot 10 ball.

The vast majority of luck in 9ball and 10ball doesn't come from pocketing balls in wrong pockets; it comes from leaves. This is where the WPA rules fall short, and why I happen to agree with the OP (unless the rules are changed). Ex: Shooter A calls the 3 in the corner. He misses the shot and...

Ah the power of the forum. I would usually just start racking the balls from there...but looking at it again, I'm starting to see some shots. (3 pages)...

What did SVB play before cuetec?

I thought so too. Didn't Dan Janes give him that cue when he was kid?

    Non-Simonis cloth... it feels odd.

I don't know anything about felt, but Championship cloth plays pretty consistently.

    no offense intended - but?

Then you might want to take your revised definition of "sport" to Merriam Webster. I'm sure they'd be interested in hearing it. sport/spôrt/ Noun: An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others. Or I suppose we could just...
