    Les, your cue is finished....

Tell me about those shafts. They are beautiful. Is that baked maple?

Hand size vs cue butt size?

    I’m 5’10” and I prefer a 1.28” or larger

    What's in your case?

While it may seem like overkill in the shaft department, there is a method to the madness. Two of the shafts are stock, with ivory ferrules, that play slightly different, despite the same specs, such is wood. The darkest shaft is an old Falcon shaft that, when mated with this cue, plays and...

    Sneaky ID Help

I just picked this up. I was thinking this was just an older import sneaky, which it may be, but a few details have me wondering. The pin is nicely finished and the weight bolt is different than I’ve seen on imports. The ferrule is the same material that is on my two Palmer’s that are from the...

    Which Silver?

I would think pure 999 will be the easiest to work and will have a better shine than 925.

    Best Non-laminated tip?

I started using water Buffalo as that is the stock tip Bob Runde used and at the time I had a Runde. At first I found them hard and unforgiving and then I realized how great a hard and unforgiving tip really is. It was easy to recognize when you are out of stroke, which I found quite helpful...

    eBay unknown cue

That model has a full splice and with the brass joint, it probably throws a lot of folks off. The bumper is wrong too. I’ve had people tell me with certainty what cues are, thinking them to be custom when I know they are older imports. They usually think buttcaps or joint have been replaced...

Proud owners of custom cues, what do you do with the spare shaft?

I guess I went the opposite route. When I find a shaft that I like, I have the joint ring matched. Depends on the game or the table, or maybe just how I’m shooting that day.

Worst and best cue you have ever used

The worst was one particular Tim Scruggs. I could not make a ball to save my life. The best, that’s tough. A Tad, an Al Romero and a Darrin Hill all seemed like I was cheating when I played with them.

    Pin threads? My mystery cue...

Take a better photo of the pin. It looks like a custom Palmer with possibly a Szam blank.

    Points vs No Points

I think if you play with production cues that have pantograph points and one from the same brand that is a PJ, you will notice how similar they feel. Try the same with a spliced forearm and a PJ and odds are there will be a greater difference in hit/feel. A good custom will have their...
