    Saskatchewan

I never had any real problems with him, but he seemed like a bit of a loose cannon. He's not around pool much these days, so your fear of forehead reconstruction is likely unwarranted

Maybe you should meet Joe B first...

Ebony, ivory and a little copper thrown in!

Stunning work. By the way, it's 'Fleur de lis'

Name a player that evokes mythical status

If by 'whole world', you mean North America and parts of Europe, then yes. How about Cleopatra?

    Fearless potfest

I know a lot of Mandarin speakers... and they pronounce it 'Bay-jing' :D The only people I've heard refer to Beijing as Peking are European tourists or old colonialists. Most of the Japanese folks I've encountered avoid referring to Beijing at all ;)

    Fearless potfest

That was a fantastic match; thanks for linking it. Dear snooker commentators, 'Beijing' is pronounced 'Bay-Jing'. Do make a little effort, please: China is the future of the game.

Types of people you see at the Pool Hall

This thread is great. I only have one to offer, but I've seen this guy in every pool hall I've spent some time in... The Employee works at the pool hall, is probably in his late 30s (rumored to be much older), and has a name like Steve. You never see him on a table, but it is widely...

Players arriving at the China Open

Looks much like how I show up for work - minus the cars, crowds, and fancy footwear.

I'm curious, how many racks have you run in a row(9-ball on 4.5x9 only)

Two for me. I'm not much of a 9-ball player. Although, I'm not much good at any other cue game, either.

What's your favorite size table to play on?

Ditto. But for pool, a 9-foot is fine. I've played billiards on a 10-foot table, but not pool.

You neglected: "A bit pacey, a bit PACEY" and "What can you say..." :grin-square:

Playing in a tournament you know you can't win

I haven't played in a tournament in years, but when I was younger - and working in a pool hall - I played in everything I could afford, mostly for the experience of it all. I never snapped off a win in a major tournament, but I made a few established players uncomfortable a few times, and...

Who here has never ever E-V-E-R played league pool.....

No league play for me, either. Nothing against it, but if I have an opportunity to play pool, I prefer 14.1. Not too many leagues (none) for that game in my neck of the woods.

    Funny pic/gif thread...

Yes, pretty unique. Pretty spendy, too, at around $1350.00. Hope they are comfortable.

    Ah, thanks for the clarification.

    Ko Pin-Yi is a Beast

Nice payout. 300,000 CNY = ~ $47,000.00 Pin-Yi is a great shotmaker. Yang can play much better than he did here. He's a killer for the cash.

Why there aren't many people talking about Falcon Cues??

I bought a plain Falcon in Saskatoon in 1994, and it was my main player for about 8 years. Picked up a 4 pointer, a WS3, in 2002 in Calgary. Both cues are great, and no plans to get rid of them. I haven't tried the overseas offerings.

Nice to see Dott knock in a century. Whenever I watch him, he seems to struggle. Maybe it's me:p
