What Do I Use to Seal the Slate?

Both Ernesto out of SoCal and the best NorCal Table Mechanic exclusively use Bondo® for seams and any imperfections. Moving the table should NOT be a concern since that's the same as initial installation, ie, starting from the beginning. Troy

    Tournament Hustler

If possible, I would have him removed from the mini-tournament and forfeit his entry fee for "unsportsmanlike conduct". I would also have prohibited him from playing the main event, returning his entry fee. Troy...~~~ Thinks it's past time for players to get some integrity.

    Changing ferrules???

Jim S is correct -- I suggest going to your local Pool Room and ask about having the tip replaced. Most rooms have an experienced repair person either on call or employed there. For a beginner, a Le Pro is a very good tip and should only cost $8-$10. The ferrule will only need replacing if it...

    Is the CCB messed up?

I seriously doubt they would intentionally create that situation. It would be more trouble than it's worth. Beside that, the timing is wrong. The last post is on 12/26 at 12:25 AM.

    Is the CCB messed up?

Hi Jim... The CCB Forum is in "read only" mode, no posting. I tried again a few minues ago -- some sort of "error". They probably won't even know there's a problem until their crew returns tomorrow AM (Monday). Troy... Gotta love the corporate world... :(

    CCB Down?

The CCB Forum will probably be fixed on Monday, after the holiday weekend when folks return. Until then it's "read only", no posting, and no whining about it here either. Unlike AZB, the CCB is a Corp operation and doesn't have fulltime Forum Admin. AZB has Mike (Thank You, Mike !!!) to repair...

    need advice on TIP shaping

You could try a piece of about 80-grit sandpaper cupped in your hand. The movement is at an angle from the tip away & down. Keep rotating the cue til you get the desired result. Just take it easy. Beware of the "Ultimate Tip Tool". I have replaced many ferrules after people badly scratch theirs...

    Cleaning the Cue...

Moderation Cod, moderation..... A small amount of lighter works wonders for cleaning. The slight film that remains is less than a light wax job, feel more like talc without the powder.

    Cleaning the Cue...

You guys and your "diaper" jokes are cute... :) If you must know, I'm a grandfather and haven't seen a "dirty" diaper in over 30 years. My wife keeps a small supply of old diapers for dusting.

    Cleaning the Cue...

I use lighter fluid (Ronsonol®) and a clean, soft rag (old diaper works great). I do NOT carry this with me but I do clean my shaft every couple days. Lighter fluid leaves a slight film on the wood -- almost feels like wax but does NOT get sticky as does wax. After each session I wipe down my...
