Another milestone crossed! Primed, painted, and got all the electrical in along with my inwall speakers. Gold Crown IV all lined up and getting picked up this weekend. If all goes well I'll have a floor done and waiting for it.

    Starting Basement Pool Room

This is a new screenshot of what I have planned now. Things changed a little bit since I first started. Sorry the little floating discs are the can lights and speakers, there just kinda in the way.

    Help Identifying This Ball Polisher

I was able to get a random enough spin by placing aggressive treaded carpet in 2 different directions. I ran the carpet in a direction to mimic a riffle barrel around the outer perimeter(not pictured here since I did that later) but you get the idea. Then the bottom tread made the ball see 2...

    Help Identifying This Ball Polisher

I know the diamond washer does. They do a few different things to get them to spin randomly.

question for you guys with pool rooms in your home

Not big enough. I had a "true" bar box. (smaller then 7x3.5) and a 13.5' room and still felt crowded if coming off the side rails. I blew out a load bearing wall...well still in the process of finishing it. It's not that big of a deal with a beam and some engineering. Check it out...

    Machine vs Hand Cleaning

It absolutely makes the pocket "larger" if that's how you want to phrase it. My table plays extremely tough if the balls are getting dirty. Try slamming a ball down my rail to pick up shape to the next ball (yes I know if I played better position ALL the time I shouldn't have to) :D and it...

Looks like I'm ready for Drywall! Ran all my A/V cables around the room and finished up with all of the insulation. Hoping to have drywall going by the end of next week. Getting super excited!!

    Starting Basement Pool Room

So I've been a bit busy still but it's all coming together slowly, but times flying down there! I finished up the bulkhead and tied it off to the beam I also had to add a half wall between the 1 column in the room back to the wall. I also decided to cut in a couple floating...

    Starting Basement Pool Room

Thanks! I have learned over the years that it's easier and more enjoyable to work in a clean space. Might get messy over a 12 hour work day down there but always clean for the last half hour:thumbup:

    Starting Basement Pool Room

Been quite a busy fellow on my "week Off" from work. I have almost completely finished the framing minus a few things, but I'll share where I've gotten to this point. Walls framed around the room. I had a relatively major change in my floor plan!! I started laying out my...

Yeah. My local supply store who sells these beams has an engineer for proper sizing.

    Starting Basement Pool Room

I'll be good. I decided to flip the table the other direction in the room Now I'll have 17' width wise. More then enough! Kind of pushes into the other half of the room a bit more then I would have liked but, I would rather lose a little there then have to worry about a pole.

    Starting Basement Pool Room

So got a bunch done this weekend. Last night I had a "Beam raising party" and had a pretty good turnout. Had 13 people show up to give a hand. Thanks to all who helped out!! Took 45 minutes to move four 254"x 12" LVL beams from my garage through a small window to the basement, raised to the...

    Custom Pool Room

What's the reason that the T-8 bulb is used so frequently for pool lights? Not much of a "bulb" guy but hopefully someone will know this??

    Starting Basement Pool Room

Once again this thread is driven from Dsoriano's pool room thread which deserves mad props!! Check it out here if this kind of stuff interests you. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=237445&highlight=custom+room I also started a thread with a custom pool ball polisher which is still...

    Cross-back bank on a Diamond?

I know that diamond tables have extremely bouncy rails....I believe they're accufast but I could be wrong. The springier the rails the shorter angle the ball leaves at. Could cause big problems with double banks. Slow your ball down a bit and it will go across 2 rails the way you're thinking.
