How Many Miss Mr3Cushion, Comments or Knowledges??

I had the honor of playing him in the Dutch League a few months ago. He beat me fair and square, at 87 years of age, 40-34 in 32 innings. He closed it out with a textbook-perfect run of 9.

How Many Miss Mr3Cushion, Comments or Knowledges??

I've known the one and only Mr. 3Cushion for 45 years now. He's a fountain of knowledge and experience. He's 87 years old and lives near Mechelen, Belgium.

JP de Bruijn runs 26 in the Belgian League.

The 2024 Dutch Masters winner and 2005 World Championship runner-up Jean Paul de Bruijn has made a run of 26 in the Belgian League. His monumental effort came in the second inning, and he won the match 40-19 in 13. Only eight runs (documented, refereed) of 26 had been made in history, three of...

Now there's a guy who knows about courageous play. He made big steps in the past years.

    Mazin's January 2025 tournament

Sure. If your chance of scoring is very low, the "correct" shot will be the defensive one. But if you make a habit of playing to the red in all 40 - 60 to 60 - 40 cases (together, that's the bulk of what you get in life), you'll miss out on all the compound benefits of scoring the tougher...

    Mazin's January 2025 tournament

I saw quite a bit of this B-tournament, being at home with the flu and too much time on my hands. Congrats to Dave on his fine qualifying avg. What always amazes me when I see 0.450 - 0.700 players from the US in action, is their fanatical focus on defense. What are they so terrified of? Your...

IMPO, this is Caudron's Best Total game in years!

As far as I know, runs over 10 are not tracked by anybody. Same goes for high averages in matches that are short (under 40 pts). As for the Sharm World Cup, it did not stand out too much. Tournament average 1.538, that's in the middle braquet. The only thing out of the ordinary I notice, is that...

ANYONE KNOW THE DETAILS OF THIS SYSTEM???

The numbers are meaningless, and they'll mostly distract you from what it is you need to be doing when taking on these shots: visualize. Systems are a crutch, and the whole idea is that you learn how to walk and eventually run! Don't delude yourself into thinking they'll make you a better...

We all have Dieckman or Deek-a-Mom story, Let hear you!!!

Here’s my favorite DD story (I have a handful). In 2005 in New York, I bought one of his cues. We agreed on several modifications, so I left the stick in the US. Over the months, we struck up a correspondence. He asked 1000 questions about 3-cushion in the Low Countries, and I got to appreciate...

JUN TAE KIM becomes fifth player to run a sanctioned 28

The short answer: no. But it is a double world record: high run in World Cups, share of high run in the open category. By the way, this is the "old" version, I'll add Jun Tae's 28 soon. http://files.umb-carom.org/Public/Docs/UMBWorldRecords.pdf

Some Highlights from the 3-Cushion World Championship

I've beaten him once (40-22 in 20) and he could not have been more gracious. No excuses, no back story, just a sincere "congrats, well played". Mind you, I had racked up 60-odd losses to DJ in 35 years by then. He is one of the icons of sportsmanship in 3-C.

Some Highlights from the 3-Cushion World Championship

Seventh time in his career that Merckx broke the 5.000 barrier. Twice to 50 points, five times to 40. Career-wise, he is behind only DJ and FC in matches over 3.000, just ahead of TB in fourth place.

Yes, the inches that Myanmar and Liberia hold on to, when the whole world uses the metric system. Oh, and one more country does it, I believe.

Straight rail tournament at star billiards August 23-24

Thanks for the tip. I watched a match by Thinh Kent and that was interesting. He has fantastic touch and a great instinct for staying on the favorable side of the third ball. The first fifty or sixty points looked more like balkline 47/2 (which he is already good at or could learn in no time)...
