    Glue for samsara j/b tip

JER, It might be that this procedure would work fine for you - page 2 : http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=198981 I have been working with someone using this tip and had problems having the tips flying off while breaking. I recommended taking the tip a little down so it's not as...

Cloth tensions effect on how the rails bank.

I think you misunderstood a little bit. I was wondering if this would speed up to make the cloth looser:thumbup: Tanks both for the feedback

Cloth tensions effect on how the rails bank.

I have done a table twice now where I experienced with the cloths tension on the rails. First round I had a fairly loose tension on the rails, the last time I pulled the cloth well so the tension was super tight - may be a tad to tight. However the table banked really bad after the first round...

I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

Update Thought I could give a feedback since I knocked this post up here : The original linked glue : Not good. Might be that my glue portion of the tubes was old or something - but the customer which I installed the Kamui tip to - came back.. New tip - new glue... There was a industrial...

Questions about angles. Europe - Norway

Update Well, probably boring news, but I did a complete re-cloth of rails and table - again - on this table. My buddy had as well got some new facings which was for sure a big change. Striped out the old ones and glued up the new ones to change the horizontal angle in to the pocket. These...

    ferrules

If some one manage to feel a difference between caped and uncaped - just give him what he wants. Caped might be stronger and if the customer decide to have a go with a file to change tips ("cleaning the ferrule") you have some material to sacrifice. Uncapped he would be trimming the tenon...

Inside the Weinstock shop: Custom CNC Machinery

Have to agree - WOW - a lot creamed in there. Old stereo with a Vinyl player on the top. A lot of "self made" as I can see - with some well known chucks :-) K

Cuemakers please post your inlay pictures

No problem Jim :) My machine uses some Omron switches and they seem to be pretty reliable, but I would do some tests on repeatability - if I only manage to get the freakin machine EDIT finnished ;-) Of course, I forgot my CAD/CAM machine back 1200km from me so I have no posibility to make some...

cutting inlay pockets with tiny cutters

Cool Sheldon - that was exactly what I was trying to explain :-) I have understood that this is called "Rest machining" where the tool paths not accessible with the "safe" size endmill is autimatically calculated when you choose a smaller endmill. Boy I love those rendering thingys - it's pure...

cutting inlay pockets with tiny cutters

How about using a "safe" size cutter to do as much of the pocket possible in your design (pocket/inlay) and then using "rest machening" on your CAM? That clean up the arrows or sharp corners with the smaler size end bits in multiple passes. That's my plan, but I do not speak out of experience...

Cuemakers please post your inlay pictures

I'm not sure if this is a bad idea or not; My plan is to home the machine and actually make the CAD as a drawing replicating my machines bed layout. The indexer/4th axis would then be placed at a fixed place where i actually draw my inlays placed at this point in the CAD drawing.Tailstock of...

Treatment to avoid glue lines at ferrules

Here is how a commercial company tried to hide the glue line http://www.kendocues.com/Websted/314.html This did however cause some problems where ferrules fell off. I do no magical tricks, sharp tools, use a boring bar to make the ID of the ferrule exact in diameter and then some times a...

I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

Ghost, Here is the problem : The tips area is prox 1cm^2. The primer should be put on evenly on both surfaces and then let it dry for 20-30sek. Now, the glue should be applied - and no - you should not smear the whole surface with glue and then press the surfaces together. According to the...

I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

What I'm afraid of Dave, is that the one drop of glue is not able to put the whole accelorator alive when pushed together... If not there might be areas under the tip which only contains accel. and no glue causing those funny noises we know-even if the drop of glue is strong enough to keep the...

I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

Cue Guru; We're doing the same thing, exept that I don't clean any tip with my liquids and I use alcohol or that other stuff mentioned which I don't know the US name for. I stay away from the tip cleaning (Edit:with liquids) due to the fact that I'm afraid to change the tips glue properties (I...

I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

Test performed I bought a whole bunch of glues, all what they had (which did not include the 454) Super Glue All Plastic: The primer is a felt pen which is applied in each end. Then the CA seemed to be VERY evaporating where the glue turned white even before the first drop was placed while...

I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

Yes Jer, I have used the same procedure for some time where I seal the tip after sanding with CA and then a light sand afterwards. In the old days I burnished the tip so it was not starving the bond, but honestly I think this is just bad CA... I could of course go back to 434 and actually try to...

I found a new glue for tips - any one tried this ?

After loosing 4 Kamui tips I installed - due to use of $hity glue I had a look in some of my local suppliers catalogs. I came over this one which was in the catalog with hardly any information to it at all. Searching at Loctites web gave some good vibes :dance...
