    Any good cues here?

Not a great pic. Looks like some potentially good cues to my untrained eye. Thoughts?

Built a simple Straight Pool scorekeeper — looking for feedback from 14.1 players

I sound like another old fart, but I guess I'm just more of a traditionalist than old. I prefer beads first, then dials. Easy. Your app sounds like a great thing for keeping stats/performance so good luck with it!

    Super billiards expo 2025

I was there at that Expo. The ambiance of the pool room was monster tee shirts and beer while the 3C room was bowties and mimosas.

I launched my nationwide pool hall finder today

OP wants accolades not real discussion from people who care. How difficult is it to Google a pool hall then call them to make sure they're open and not hosting a big league or something at the moment?

You are being way too thin skinned about this. The only reason I posted more than once is because you are pretty much ignoring the questions that aren't "I love this idea"! Your only comment to me was that I was good to go since google found every pool hall in my area. AGAIN, I wasn't pissing...

...and you addressed each legitimate question head on. Sounds like digiball is a great product. For my part, I hope I did not come off as having "heavy criticism." I genuinely didn't understand why this was needed, how it is better than the one that already exists, and how it is updated...

I think a billiards site has more hardcore players than a reddit type site. I don't think it is out of line to question why this is needed. If there are benefits beyond google or other pool site websites then great!

Actually, you are the one who is correct. A 50 mile radius has you at the center of a circle with a 100 mile diameter.

    CTE Testimonials

Stevie Moore was teaching it. Maybe that's who you are thinking of. There are 1 or 2 others but their approach to each shot looks like anybody else. For awhile they were calling it "disguised pivoting." Some of the great Philipino players were rumored to be using CTE but there isn't any real...

That's a 25 mile radius. Is your site different from the one Bob linked to?

I'm not trying to run you down. I hope you are successful but as Bob pointed out others have done this and it seems like keeping the database updated is a challenge.

That's not my experience. I just tried it and I actually got the same results you provided plus 1 or 2 more. How will you keep your list more accurate than Google in the years to come?

I'm sure this is a labor of love but not really sure what the point is. If I Google "pool halls near me" I get the same results.

This Is What Ruins My Runouts

A lot of times when I don't want the cb to drift sideways too much I'll miss the shot fat, and not just because I'm cheating the pocket.

How important is a straight follow-through, post contact?

Bob, I've heard you're pretty badass in the pool room bar scene. Have you considered taking out your brass knuckles and wearing them on rail shots to protect your knuckles? Just make sure you clean the dried blood off them first! ;)

Seeking Input: Archer ‘93 vs. Today

When I put new balls and cloth on my new table years ago I was running tons of balls. Now that the same cloth is worn a bit and dirtier I can't come close to that even though I'm a significantly better player now. The balls open up much better on new cloth. I think this is similar to the slow...
