    Book...The Color of Money

Same I feel the same as you and I am in the same age bracket , but movies change with the times and as much as we ( Hustler fans ) hate to hear this the Hustler would most likely flopped in the mid 80's due to the change in the audience attention span from that of 1961. Books can and do go...

    PSA: Barry Szamboti Cue

Fwiw I feel I owe this to Bill Grassley . I am not trying to get into a situation where it seems all parties involved honestly feel they are right. In a previous thread I wrote my honest opinion of Don Sherman I feel I owe it to Bill to do the same. I have known and done busn. with Bill...

    Jayson Shaw's 247 run

Agree I agree especially since the top pros can make a break shot from almost anything left on the table. 98% of us need some sort of a standard break shot , so more planning is needed.

    PSA: Barry Szamboti Cue

Don Don I have known you for 20+ years and you may be the most honest man I have ever met and that includes outside of the Pool world. You need not have to worry about looking over your shoulder . Frank O.

    New 9' Diamond For Home...

Fwiw For what it's worth I was in your situation in the late 90's. I had my mind set on getting a restored Brunswick Anniversary but kept hearing the Diamond buzz. A group of us were making our annual pilgrimage to the US Open so I put my decision off until I got back home. In the 90's the...

Reading that Mosconi thread on the main page made me think

Play I play both straight and 9 ball with some 8 ball. In my opinion 9 ball dictates your next shot and forces you to be able to move the cue ball around the table. This helps my position play in straight pool. I had the opportunity to see Mosconi play an exhibition when I was 14 yrs. old I...

    The Beard................

Thanks Thanks for the link, it made me think how I almost missed out on getting a autographed copy of Freddy's book. I saved the PMs between us and I am glad I have his book and signature. It is a shame Freddy died at age 73 because he loved writing and talking about Pool.

    Peter Margo

Cue I heard he played with a Balabuska his entire career. I have a picture hanging on my wall of him with Danny Dileberto and Fred Astaire taken in 1968 in L.A. Another story is he got into the Video busn. during it's peak years and made a fortune.

What's Good About A "Good Hit"?

For For me it starts with the sound when the cue hits the cue ball. Some cues I have owned stand out in my memory. I remember playing with a brand new Lambros cue and had several people remark how solid the hit sounded on that cue. It was when Mike first came out with the Ultra joint as an...
