    Better safety play

Safe. 1- one pocket! 2- play one pocket! 3- consider the great French game of One Pocquette!

Was I wrong for not telling my opponent he's shooting the wrong ball?!?!

Rotation. Simple solution. Whoa Bob, you shot out of rotation, I didn't notice till you shot the five, but the four is still on the table! If I had seen it I would have told you! Sorry man. Playing for fun or practice I would stop the guy. For money he would be educated, but still be using...

Do pockets that rattle help or hurt the game, overall?

Rattling pockets. I usually avoid the tightest table in the room but I understand some people think it improves your aiming and it's somewhat true. Seems like I have to change up my speed and aggression and play more careful. Some of that is good but seems to hold back my best game. I do like...

    Pace of Play

Slow play! Nothing much can be done about slow play. Daydream and shoot the breeze with others. Better yet, start playing one pocket which will surely help your patience. Running racks quickly is the pure way to play! Unfortunately we are not all at that level. My fast play heroes are...

    BCA rule clarification.

BCA eight ball. Player A shoots his stripe and moves player B's solid with his hand/stick after contact? Stripes roll around and stripe ball comes back and runs into same solid accidentally moved. How could you ever decide where all these colliding balls would end up and be possibly put back? I...

    Jannette Lee - DCC results

Work, family, pool. True for me also. I also chose not to give up family and work to pursue a pool shooting ( CAREER ). However these players are not me and you and they relish days and days of non stop action. It's their job. Now I'm retired and play all I want. I run into those who chose...

    Jannette Lee - DCC results

Six ahead. The game is six ahead! That's the bet. There is a reason for this type of bet. The whole time thing is irrelevant. A big part of this bet is perseverance. Who is most patient. Who gets tired and frustrated. It will be a decisive victory, no one just squeaking out a victory. From a...

    Mum pool (golf)

Mums Wow, one word and you lose is brutal. I have heard of multiple hickeys for anything pool related during game. Regular conversation allowed.

    Mum pool (golf)

Mum pool, as in mums the word, in relation to golf played on a snooker table. How is golf played around the country in regards to players coaching, advising and belittling other players as to their choice of offense, defense, leaving your man? Worst to me is line me up and I will roust him. It...

    Cue, shaft, tip?

Tools Thanks Bob and all who responded. Was not looking for the perfect combination, just curious what some well rounded players would be using in the age of LD shafts. Randy G. Is probably pretty busy with his fifty year anniversary accomplishment. Great job Randy, not too many people have...

Buy the SHURTZ off my back.

Shurtz 04 I had this same cue and they are indeed great players. I remember reading on this forum that some great one pocket players like Shurtz cues. Gabe Owens dad has a strong connection with Shurtz. Maker, owner, don't really know. You don't see a lot of Shurtz cues floating around for...

    Experiment in Ditching LD Shaft

Masse with LD? When I did use an ob1 shaft it would masse just fine. So easily that it would masse too much. I completely lost that shot as I could not control the cue. It did it TOO good! Very impressive at first until I realized I had lost control. I now play with a plain wood shaft.

    Cue, shaft, tip?

What cue, shaft and tip do the az instructors play with? Hoping to hear from Randy G., Scott L., Bob J. and any others who may want to chime in. Also do you change configurations for different games? Don't care about jumpers. Thanks.

Problem flying with cue to a Cuba resort?

Cues on planes Like others, I pack my cues in large suitcase and they are protected by all the clothes. I also bought a nylon case specifically made for cues and cases and just check it. It will hold 3 large (3-5) cases. I don't use it any more because of the fees! I carry my large, heavy...

Bludworth??? info help offer or trade

Blud Thanks Donald. Years ago this young kid asks me to look at this sp he was thinking of buying. I knew nothing about Bloodworths at the time. I shot a few games with it and told him this stick is well made and plays great. He didn't have the bucks and I bought the cue from Benny Branch from...

    Damascus steel

Case hardened? How about case hardened like on guns. The colors are very cool. My Fox Sterlingworth shotgun has that coloring. Couldn't be much heavier than stainless. Just brainstorming.

Pool and wifey. Everything in life is more important than pool. Follow your heart. Now for the single guys reading this post. Only date lady pool players. They must share your passion. Perfect example would be Miss AKA TRIGGER. Good looking and more passion than most men for the game. Someone...

Bludworth??? info help offer or trade

Dots Well ok then. If Donald says so then so be it! I have seen larger dots on cues before. Maybe Leonard will chime in and set us all straight. To me it made sense to have something to distinguish easily the two cue makers. McDermott made bloods? Didn't know that either. I do know I have a...

Bludworth??? info help offer or trade

Red dot? If it's a Bloodworth it will have a small blood dot (circle) on the butt. Small 1/8 in dot is Leonard Bloodworth. Larger dot is a Donald Bloodworth. The small dot is more desirable IMO. The blood dot is red, hence the name. My old sp blud played just fine for the eight or ten years it...
