well jeff, apparently the MFG is not quite as familiar with their material as they should be. still, i have not tried to break the pin but it may be worth the experiment. i personally "buff" the pin but a CA wipe would seem to work as well. as far as "premium", i couldn't think of a better way...

it will depend on the blade randy. the better the blade, the easier it will be on the saw. if you have problems with the saw, give me call, you can come over and use my 3hp cabinet saw,

hickory shaft
sfleinen, i have been experimenting with hickory for the last 3 years or so and find its a very unique wood for a shaft and enjoy it. hickory has a stiffer hit. it does have a little more weight but this can be adjusted a bit with taper. if you are a 14.1 player as your avatar...
always like to read your input,thnx chris. i'd have to agree and by the way this thread turned ugly, i'm glad i do old style butterflies. no worries about patents, copyrights, claims of inventing splicing(been around 300yrs or better). all i have to do is make sure i do the darn thing RIGHT.
