Pros today vs the pros yesterday

I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out what was wrong with Mosconi's mechanics.

Equipment Variation: A dimpled cue ball

I'm talking about the table itself -- slate, rails, ball return, maybe even the light fixture, too

Equipment Variation: A dimpled cue ball

How about a dimpled pool table? Dimple the whole damn thing.

Which Ball Cleaning Machine is the best in the market today?

Not sure if 5 minutes does it always. My Blud timer goes up to 12 min. Often when I'm done playing I throw them in and turn it on 12 and leave. I hate cleaning the balls and cloth so anything that makes it easier is my priority. IMO, just get the slightly bigger unit and be done with it...

Has Dr Dave's example been addressed in this forum?

I think the net effect of those videos was increased exposure to Keller.

Which Ball Cleaning Machine is the best in the market today?

I have also had a Bludworth for many years and it works fine. I would not buy any machine that does not clean all 16 balls at the same time.

Has Dr Dave's example been addressed in this forum?

JB just recorded over 7 hours in two youtubes trying to rebut what the Shortstop (Bob Keller, I think) said about aiming systems. I skimmed the 7 hours in about 15 minutes. 7 hours and that question still has never been answered beyond shouting "Rotating spheres"! and "Round barn"!

Shane Van Boening aiming system -WOW!!

CJ wrote that 10 years ago, but it seems your sentiments hold true today. Most top players have never heard of some of the "new" alphabet aiming systems.

IMPRESSIVE VENOM SHOTS in SUPER SLOW MOTION

I have another obscure reference for you to look up -- "not that there is anything wrong with that."

With such high praise Venom should be hiring you as his next publicist! 😉

IMPRESSIVE VENOM SHOTS in SUPER SLOW MOTION

Fun video. I especially enjoyed "Non-binary Dave" and Pubo's near gender-affirming surgery.

    CTE Testimonials

Well there you go again. I was interested in the playing level of the guy who got better using CTE. If you had just said "I don't know" or "beginner" then that would have been the end of it.

Does waxing the butt of the cue do anything?

Pete Tascarella recommends butcher's wax for protecting worn areas on a Balabushka.

    POOL MOST DIFFICULT SPORT

Agreed. :) Unfortunately, he died when he was only 21 so we never knew how good he could have been. :(

    POOL MOST DIFFICULT SPORT

It was just a joke. Relax. I'll throw in a smiley face next time. :) I played a lot of golf years ago but never got beyond the recreational level. I could hit pretty well but I had no consistency. I could par one or two holes in a row and then hit a triple bogey, mostly because of duffed...

    POOL MOST DIFFICULT SPORT

I agree that it is a sport. When I first heard the idea that some didn't consider it a sport I laughed it off. However, for purposes of this discussion, sport or not, an argument can be made that golf is not in the same class as football or basketball. For instance, what makes more sense as a...

    POOL MOST DIFFICULT SPORT

You've mentioned this before. It's interesting but have the skill levels been proven out by actual large numbers of people playing or is it something Hopkins came up with? I'm not saying it isn't accurate, only wondering if the numbers prove out in reality. Maybe there should be an AZ...

    POOL MOST DIFFICULT SPORT

I haven't read every post in this thread, so apologies if this has already been said. I think "sport" is too broad a category. When automobiles are compared, a Yugo is not compared to a Ferrari. They are compared to others in their class. I would break classes down into something like this...
