Re working my old table, have you ever seen this -RJS

Could the slate have been damaged at one time and trimmed off? I'm not sure if it could delaminate like glued wood or not. Growing up our house had a slate roof on it and over the years some of the slate shingles would bubble and flake away, causing the nail holes to enlarge and slip over the...

    Table not banking properly

Finally my local Brunswick dealer received a shipment of Simonis for my table. I took the rails off and made one small repair on the casting bolt threaded insert. Every rail cover was cut long and laid over the edge of the relief for the cloth which would cause a change in the nose height...

    Soft tips on CF shafts

I had the Kamui Athlete put on my revo a couple weeks ago. It's really hard to explain, but you get a firm hit that feels soft. It is a very noticable difference. The Athlete is a layered tip that starts out with hard layers, topped off with medium layers.

mini split for garage pool table

The garage overhead door is going to be your biggest loss of condidtioned air. The unit would probably be able to keep up with this loss, but the cycle time would shorten and cause the unit to run double time thus shortening the life of the unit. If the walls are not insulated, it is not to...

Kamui's do you prefer tan or black?

This is a bit off topic, but I had the opportunity to try out the new Kamui Athlete tip at my local billiards shop over the weekend. The Athlete is a layered tip with the bottom half being of hard leather, and the upper half being medium leather. Gives a good solid hit with a bit of give. I...

GC Simonis Install / Houston Mechanic

I have been wanting to talk to RKC but did not know how to contact him. Now I have his contact info. and all my questions (so far) have been answered. I may find a whole new bunch of problems, damage, or who knows, when I break the table down. I'm going to the BCA Nationals at the end of the...

    Table not banking properly

I showed these pictures to our local Brunswick dealer and without me asking anything, he said "this is wrong". Could see right away what my problems are. We talked and he assured me that this will be corrected when they do the recover. I'm going to disassemble the table and correct any minor...

GC4 pocket castings sit higher than rails

Looks like a slightly larger hole in the castings would give you a bit more room to adjust??

GC Simonis Install / Houston Mechanic

I have been asking around the DFW metroplex about this installer for other reasons on my table. It seems that he is no longer installing, but just restoring GC's. I'm sure the same problems are going to keep following him.

    Table not banking properly

Exactly, I wouldn't mind a few extra dollars for a job done properly. I think that I am on the edge of doing this myself. I feel confident that I could do the job, just a few things that I'm not sure of, like the corners of the rails.

GC Simonis Install / Houston Mechanic

When I had Simonis installed on my GC it was loose as yours is. I called the installer back to tighten it up he said that he installed the cloth for a "family room" use. The loose cloth slows the balls down some and makes play more enjoyable for the family. That's what he told me??? I said...

    Table not banking properly

The installer came highly recommended, but these little eye sores have bothered me from day one. I am not a meticulous person, but I would like everything to be done properly. At the time this table was delivered and set up I did not know any different. I am in need of a recover in the near...

    Table not banking properly

Lluckily, that is the only one on that rail that has the ears. All the others are wrench driven. Probably going to see more though as I disassemble the table.
